First of all dont go for writing Urdu in essay paper , try to put some quotations and lines from English, but if u feel the need of an Urdu shair then write it in English letters;- like wajud e zan sa hay tasweer e kaynaat me rang.

Urdu shers might be written if their English translation is provided too. The translation may be in simple words and needs not be in poetic form.

However, do not use more than 2 or 3 Urdu shers in the essay. It might be counter-productive.
