1. Introduction

Since the dawn of the civilization, men have been trying to devise the best possible system of government which can help them live a peaceful life. This hunt of the masses led them to devise various forms of government i.e. tribal , oligarchy, theocracy, democracy, communism etc. The modern man is stuck in between two kind of governments, democracy and dictatorship. As it is said, the best wins the race, democracy came out to be the only choice for the civilized nations, for it is the government of the people by the people for the people.
The founding fathers of Pakistan had the vision of establishing a democratic country which doesn't only ensure the rights of muslims but also of minority. M.Ali Jinnah and DR. Allama Iqbal had lived this dream and they dedicated their whole life to this sacred cause. On August, 14,1947, the great Quaid and his comrades thought that their dream has come true as the new laboratory for practicing Islamic and democratic principles of equality was ready for practical. But, the demise of the founding father led to the trampling of his dream and since that Pakistan is under the dark clouds of social and economic crisis caused by the bad governance. The current transition of democratically elected government and the mass movements throughout the country, have given some hope for the better future of democracy in Pakistan. But the sword of Damocles of another deadly coup also hangs there. Nevertheless, the nation is being trained by new political powers, which may pave the way for better future of democracy in Pakistan.
