Pakistan is an agricultural country and about 60% of its masses are directly and indirectly engaged in this sector. This primary sector is also proved to be the back bone of secondary sector of economy industry. Agriculture has accorded highest recognized place in advanced countries for rapid development by both public and private sectors. But situation in Pakistan is very grotesque and vague. Previous and present governments raised many slogans to uplift the most important sector in which thousands of tenants are associated but this dismal condition of agriculture is a vivid example of the failure of government and all stakeholders. Slogans remained mere political slogans. All the promises, at this juncture, unfulfilled as yeoman's services couldn't benefited. The purchase price of rice has been lowered at its lowest ebb which does not compensate the tenants even landlords as inputs are more costly than output. It looks the incompetence of the government and violation of mandate. Keeping in view the facts and figures present government must have taken steps to mitigate the pain of 60% of Pakistan by enhancing and facilitating them as per their requirements as well as take initiatives to boost up the progress of most significant sector of economy. Eventually, In this way both sectors (agriculture and industry) will be routed to progress of country.
