nisma, again well done, valid and convincing points, but you need to work on outline dear. make it comprehensive, add more points. it should cover the first page of your answer sheet. i have heard that gives a positive view. because i have heard, from outline, the examiner gets the whole view point and marks accordingly.overall, i feel you have an argumentative and convincing mind.utilize it fully

Gender equality is a myth
“ I do not wish them to have control over men, but over themselves” mary stonewall
“A woman is human. She is not better, wiser, stronger, more intelligent, more creative, or more responsible than a man. Likewise, she is never less.” (Vera nazarian)
Thesis statement: equality of both the gender, male and female, is a myth and not reality.
I. Introduction
II. Gender equality is a myth
A) Evidence of gender inequality
i) Political arena (33% women in Pakistan parliament, no single women president in U.S)
ii) Economic sector (inequality in job selection, pay scales are variable, sexual harassment at work)
iii) Social norms ( male dominated society, decision making, money matters, even family related issues decided by men)
B) Genesis of gender inequality
i) Biological differences
a) Physical differences (men stronger muscles, females stronger bones)
b) Hormonal differences ( testosterone vs oestrogen/prolactin)
ii) Cognitive skills ( males into maths, calculations whereas women into memory related fields, unitask vs multitask)
iii) Pre-concieved notions (males are smarter, stronger, more intelligent)
iv) Religious roots
a) Hinduism (satti)
b) Roman law
c) Christanity ( eve is reason of all sins)
d) Islam ( difference in inheritance share, exaggerated interpretations by hardcore mullahs)
C) conclusion

in my opinion, you are just trying to force your stance.
the outlines are just filled

in other words, you are flowing with the material you have read.
your opinion should be your own

but, its my singular opinion

sadafnoorelahi Tuesday, January 14, 2014 08:15 AM

thanks a lot tashfeen for your criticism, but kindly suggest ammendments/improvements

Let us focus on "dialogue is the best way to combat terrorism"

Your outline isn't potraying what you are going to say in your essay.

I mean to say that I am still not sure whether you are writing in support or against.

Your outline is giving mix signals.

I have no onjection over your points. My criticism is on presentation.

Tashfeen Alam Tuesday, January 14, 2014 01:40 PM

What I am trying to say is that the outline should give a holistic view of your whole essay.

In order to make this discussion more understandable, let me share the outline

PS: kindly ignore my spelling mistakes in the outline and intro that I am going to share

3.1. Critical analysis: terrorism can only be best defeated with the recipe of dialogue.
3.2. Wars kill the enemies but dialogue ends the terrorism for good.

Terrorism has always been haintung the world in one way or the other. One time it loomed larged in the conflict of the Protestants with the Catholics. In another chapter of the history, the Cold War era incited terrorist activities affecting the whole world. The list consists infinite instances of terrorism e.g. the North Ireland terrorism, the Islamic extremists etc. They all had different condemnable motives. Every time they were tried to be crushed by force, the reappeared stronger than before. Consequently, the need for bringing the terrorists to the negotiating table was felt necessary. To simply put, dialogue has always been used to curb terroism.

“Force is all conquering, but it's victories are short lived.”
-Abraham Lincoln.

Undoubtedly, dialogue is the best way to combat terroism. There is no divided opinion on the fact that terrosim is a menace for any country. It causes nothing but disasters, in both human and economic losses, for the respective country. In order to eradicate terrorism, three options are available. First is of a military action. History is the epitome that it always results in a negative way by showing the terroists as being the innocent and the oppressed. Second solution is of surrender that no country can affird to choose. The last option is of dialogue. This option not only ends the terrorism once and for all but also there is nohumand and economic loss. Along with this, it is heavily supported by the populace. It also shows the seriousness of the government. Consequently, hampering the false propaganda of the terrorists by which they recruit the innocent public. It causes both immediate and long lasting impacts for that state. The peace prevails and the envoronment of fear is removed. It restarts the economic machinery. Besides this, the whole public is being reunited. All in all, leading the state towards the path of prosperity. Hence, a once failing state starts to firm its feet for progress. with the help of pragmatic steps dialogue can cause a very positive role. With the joint efforsts of the governement, society, media etc., dialogue can eliminate terrorism. It can only succed with the sincere efforsts from all ends.

"Let us never negotiate out of fear, but let us never fear to negotiate."
-JOHN F. KENNEDY
