i want to concerntrate on science becoz it is marks scoring subject..
Thanks 4 ur concern. Now tell me 4m where i hve 2 take start
As i have allocated 10 days 4 science in which my 3 days have been passed just to explore books papers and diffrent suggestions but still v much cofus........ as u told that papers are v much up to date and require some innovative stdy. while i m also keeping in mind tough routine of papers as well 2 papers in single day, no idea should i go 4 making my own notes because i dnt knw any 1 in my contacts wha have appeared in css
why ten days ...each one has its own capacity and if u are not able to cover such a lengthy paper with in 10 days .....you will be hopeless...first of all check urself how much u can cover with in each day and make a plan according to it...follow ur mind not others but pick suggestion of others...so u have a plenty of time ...u should work with sbject on regular basis along with english and with one optional subject.when u wil be able to complete eds then start next...place 1o days for 2 reveesion

dear you can`t attempt paper without news paper .....if u feel difficulty then should focus on national and international page and plus one article daily and when you got speed then start reading whole of it...for preparation you should take English on regular basis as eds is weak so keep it with English and one optional

EDS as I see it,isn't a subject that u can buckle down and prepare in 5-7 days and then leave it to that..as sadia has told u,u need to keep updating ur knowledge of EDS on a continuous basis..The problem with EDS is that it has no descriptive syllabus line,so U will have to look at the past 10 year papers to get an idea about the syllabus..It generally contains these major topics and their subtopics:
1.Human Physiology and Human systems(Digestive,respiratory,Nervous,Excretory,Ge netic,ENT etc)
2.Basic botany
3.Names of endangered animal species and their location
4.Solar system and the Earth(Geology, climate etc)
5.Functions of daily appliances, and daily scientific phenomenons.
6.Basic chemicals,their chemical formulas,usage etc
7.Muslim scientists and their inventions
8.Current scientific developments, abbreviations of terms and units of measurements.
This list is by no means exhaustive. Now to prepare for these,I shall advie u following things:
1.Get ur hands on the Biology,Physics and Chemistry books written for O-levels.Apart from this, buy either Kashmiri or Imtiaz Shahid EDS book. Also don't forget to buy Imtiaz Shahid's book for EDS MCQ's,considering its50% objective type paper.
2.Keep ur eyes and mind open.Watch science segments on tv and newspapers. There would be plenty of things in the paper that wud pertain to current scientific developments and abbreviations. There is no end to the preparation of this paper. But do remember DO NOT prepare very deeply for this paper. They are looking for a basic scientific know-how,not a scientist's perspectives.U have to maintain a delicate balance while answering an EDS question coz neither they demand a very lengthy answer form you,nor they demand a scientist's caliber.Writing tiny details wouldn't fetch u any extra marks.A good mark in EDS might mean the difference between allocation and non allocation.Strive for a 70+ in EDS.As for mcq's,u may prepare 1000s of them and in the paper the examiner may start asking from mcq nmber 1001 and onwards..so ur never sure about it.Nevertheless, try ur level best to get a cushion of 10-15 marks in EDS above the other competitors.Pray to Allah for the best.
Hope this stuff would be of some use to u,EDS ko hawwa mt banao ahista ahista kro hojayega.
Regards,

Default Trics to study EDS

Firstly plz try to comprehend the logic asked in questions or MCQs.
MCQs Should b slearned more
analyse past papers first
analyse subjective paper n try to discover that from which chapter they r asking more
secondly there is no need to learn all questions papers of past
Perpare ur questions according to choice given
Make a list of q which r grneral n asked in past papers more n learn by heart these questions
Follow the past papers of 10 years only
In examination hall u should attempt the questions on which u can write like a scientist n not like an artist. It means facts n figuers should b writen. More points more marks
Best of luck

Default @ every day science

aoa
for eds one must have a backgroung of science subjects
if not then do study physisc chemistry and biology for matirc / inter level to have the basic idea about everyday science

for css/pms one must go through the every day science book/ books..
idea from the past 5-7 years papers..
one thing more that nowadays eds paper has 50 MCQs which are compulsory and then choice of 5 Questions to be answer from 8 questions....
the MCQs matters alot to cross the 80 mark....
also one must have sound and basic knowledge to obtain good marks

@ All
i daresay i have to pity miss saima fakhar who dared to seek guidance for EDS.
Many self-appointed messiahs of CSS-forum who themselves have not qualified have started propounding grand recipes of scoring in EDS-please don't doubt my intentions i mean no offence. Ironically every member of CSS forum has a wonderful recipe for sailing through CSS.

I second the suggestion of "Sadafrani".

@Sadia Shafiq
Did you qualify CSS?

The other day i contacted a female student of officer academy. She gave CSS-2011 and said that she will get 70 marks in English essay-my sincere prayers with her. i told her that i have qualified CSS-2010 and i am waiting for my merit list. she asked me how much marks did i get in CSS-2010. the readers of this post can form a fair judgement about the lack of knowledge of CSS-procedure most CSS-aspirants. Most candidates are either not cognizant of the details or they are simply not interested.

I am a CSS qualifier of CSS-2010. my humble suggestion for those who want to do exceptionally well is that they should consult the following books and websites for EDS preparation.

Mathworks.com
Howstuffworks.com
wikipedia
A-level Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Computer Science
Geography by Strahler
Nature Science Journal
The beginning of time by Stephen Hawking
The origin of Species by Darwin
and all the relevant books in the market.
Best wishes.

if you are qualifier than i am too...difference is i skipped my 6 subjects and i have taught CSS 2011 KIPS batch .....my teachers knew i have problems ....why i could`nt appear in whole........so they by dint od my capabilities gave me a chance to teach ........And if you are going to comment on my post only being in self of pride of qualifier ....then lets see what marks you will gain and where you would be allocated or either allocated or not......what you recommended i can object and comment alike u....but i am ignoring u...so plz avoid this kind of attitude......and you really forgot what you suggested it`s only fill the space of your mind how to prepare....what i have suggested it is valid for all aspirants and authentic and you too have presented your own recipe for sail and here what by giving tips i will not become queen...so to call them selling recipe makes no sense!!!!

@ sadia shafiq

i wrote only one line addressing you miss sadia. i wonder why you have taken an offence. and how come you glean from my post that i am a show-off. What does my post have to do with my CSS result?Sorry sister you misunderstood my post.

And i have no intention to challenge your credentials. You are what you are.i wrote my candid opinion about the self-appointed messiahs.
Best wishes.
