Introduction to biology
The word biology is derived from a Greek word -bios means life and logos means thought, knowledge or study, biology is a science which deals with the study of life

Branches of biology
• Zoology:
Study of animals
• Botany:
Study of plants
• Micro biology:
Study of micro organism such as viruses and bacteria
• Morphology:
Deals with shape and structure of living organism
• Histology:
Study of tissues of animal and plants, with the help of microscope
• Cytology:
Study of cell
• Physiology:
Deals with the function of body, plants and animals
• Ecology:
Science of ecosystem, explains the relationship of organism and their environment
• Taxonomy:
Deals with the naming and classification of organisms
• Genetics:
Deals with the study of heredity and variations
• Biotechnology:
It deals with application of biological process
