Corrections in books and notes

Kindly highlight the correct one.....
in some books it is given that solar system have 8 planets and smallest one is Murcury, while the other books say that solar system have 9 planets and plato is the smallest one,
which one is correct??????
even wikipedia articles mention 8 plants with murcury to be the smallest one, but the book by Kashmiri present 9 planets..

Woa,
Pluto is no longer a part of solar system, solar system consist of 8 planets and mercury is the smallest one.
Solar system portion of the book by kashmiri is outdated and have many errors, I recommend you to consult internet for solar system portion.

yes in the past scientists mentioned that there are 9 planets in the solar system...but in 2010 or 2009 it is published that solarsystem is composed of 8 planets and pluto was taken out from the list of planets which was previously known as the smallest planet of solar system also called as DWARF PLANET.......

There are presently 8 Planets. As NASA official website says

"The planet count in our solar system has gone as high as 15 before new discoveries prompted a fine tuning of the definition of a planet. The most recent change was in 2006 when scientists reclassified Pluto as a new kind of object - a dwarf planet."
