Headings are not necessary but if you give appropriate headings then you can get good marks in Islamiat...

While attempting any paper u should always keep it in ur mind that examiner do not know anything and u r here to explain the topic, so its better to elaborate the answer with proper headings. u should facilitate the examiner and examiner will facilitate u by giving more marks. so its good to use headings and bullet points in ur paper.but in essay avoid headings write in proper paragraphs.

in my naive opinion, when you put headings in your answer it actually hinder your flow of thought during the writing process. Rather you should pen down the complete answer first and then give appropraite heading to the paragraphs as per its relevance. it will save you time in a way that you dont have to devise the heading in mid of your writing.

The Apropos!

I would say, whether or not you give the headings, just keep one thing in thy head, "Tis a competitive examination". Tis your duty therefore to compete. If you think that you can write good answer, without headings then there is no issue with that. Try to compete in your own very fundamental way!

Thank You!

Wslam

Without headings its a suicide
Its a paper in which you can score very good marks

I got 68 marks in it,out of which only 3/20 from objective and 65/80 in subjective and i believe that headings, ahadees, verses were the key behind all this.So its always recommended to put headings and highlighted and prominent headings, better to use black or blue color marker.

Yeah u r right Thakur. But i saw a girl in islamiat paper this year, drawing some picture/diagram in the paper. That was beyond my comprehension. :D

in my opinion headings are more than necessary...important thing is how to attempt ur question?here u make a difference,,,first read the question thrice, underline the main asked aspects of question,,,now think what u will discuss in this question, make ur points in rough work which will be ur headings, in case of islamiat write the hints of ahadith and ayat u will mention in the answer...this practice will take u 3-4 minutes but u will write a comprehensive and managed and focussed answer,,all the best

Make your heading in such a way so as not to create any limitation or logical boundary, rather make ur heading in a sentence so that u can be verbose about the heading in ur paragraph in multi dimension; keeping in view the time limitation to answer the question.
i.e.
Zakat ( not very impressive heading)
Zakat and its role in building an islamic society .

I could not understand why people used to follow such things?...No need to draw pic or such things in any paper, specially in Islamiat...focus should be on the completion of questions in the best possible manner.:bow
