What is the meaning of انتم الا علوں ان کنتم مومنین
(this is question#6 of CE-2014 Islamiat paper)

Is this Aayat or Hadith?

Yes dear i am unable to find the exact meaning and explanation of this Ayat or Hadith.
I failed in islamiat due to this very question.
I attempted this question like Ummat e Muslima ki zimmadarian aur mansab
Like
Sharriat ko samjhna
Sharriat par amal karna
Aur
Sharriat ka phailaana.
But i think this is not the explanation.

AoA

It is ayat 139 of Surah Al-Imran and its translation is ;

"So do not become weak (against your enemy), nor be sad, and you will be superior (in victory) if you are indeed (true) believers."

This is how it is translated.

انتم tum
الا علوں Ghalib/fatiheh
ان Agar
کنتم tum ho
مومنین Momin/Iman valay

Complete Translation: Aur tum ghalib ho gay agar tum iman rakhtay ho.

This ayah was revealed in the aftermath of ghazva e Uhud. The Muslim community was sad and heartbroken at large. So the verse was revealed.

The context of the ayah (the ayah after this) points out that Allah is reminding Muslims that they should not lose hope and He is encouraging Muslims by pointing towards the victory of badr. Allah points out that if disbelievers did not lose hope after the battle of badr, why should you?

You can contextualize the meaning in the current scenario where Muslims all over the world are engulfed by the wave of disbelief in their own strength due to the immense power of non-believers. Hence, the role of the ummah should be directed towards a revamp of situation where we redesign our strategies and effectively prepare for the future despite having gloomy immediate past because Allah has destined us to win if we follow the right path. Hence, the Ummah should reshape the system by integrating the true spirit of sharia. This is what I can comprehend (in relation to question). Your views might differ.

Hi, I did not appear in CE 2014. I was just trying to elucidate the answer according to my understanding.

Please wait for a day or two. I will consult an expert hafiz e Quran and after disscussion, I will surely post the entire answer in bullet format. It is crucial to consult experts on this issue because the true tafsir and explanation can only be provided by them.
