Unhappy What is an Islamic State?

What is the concept of an islamic state? to what extent does the present Constitution of Pakistan ensure the Islamic Character of the state?

Brother..

in a nutshell an Islamic state is that State which bestows Sovereignty to Allah and Allah alone. Offcourse this then means that the values and concepts upheld by Islam are enforced in the society in light of the commandments of Allah. All the human beings are bestowed the sovereignty according to the limitations placed by Allah. the sovereignty of Allah and the commandments of Allah are beyond question or change in such a society.

this brings equality of people, justice for all, beneficial economic system etc etc all with it.

Now the second part of your question! brother although the constitution of Pakistan bestows soveriengty to Allah alone but the laws are not the ones dictated by him. on many occasion they are totally opposite. there are many instances of it. an islamic state is one which recognizes the supreme sovereignty of Allah and at the same time imposes his will as well.

for example: The President of PAkistan is the last place to appeal in case of a death sentence after a conviction in a criminal case. according to the Islamic law nobody, but the family of the deceased has the right to forgive the blood. there are many more such examples. Take it islamic or unislamic...It's upto you
