I appeared in ce-2014. It went well. Hopes are high.
One thing i learned from this examination is to go "general".
You should know every angle of the asked question. Aspirants should broaden their horizons by collecting all the information on various issues, subject matters and themes.
Look up the question papers of this year, and you will know what I mean.
Im in this group too. So if anyone needs any help, I'm at your disposal.

Above Recommended Books cover both parts , So choose anyone book and read it thoroughly. If you will read both books you will observe writing difference. I read both books and I love Pakistan Affairs by M. Ikram Rabbani its clear and very deep in explaining the things so you will automatically remember the important points.

I got few mails i will respond them within 24 hours and stay tuned to this thread.

Thanks Regards Colossal.

I am sorry the allocated time by Mr. Usman is for Pakistan Affairs but I would like to share something for the devoted aspirants (as there is no harm in it). So, in Essay which aspirants oftenly regard as 'the most fatal' subject.

Start thinking maturely from the very first day of your preparation because as a future Civil Servant the examiner wants to check the following;
1) Your clear stance over the topic(issue) selected.
2) Your patriotism being a moderate person, taking in account the rightist and leftist approaches.
3) How will your contribution add to Pakistan.

Most importantly we are going to take a competitive exam.
Please keep this in your mind that you will be purely tested as a graduate analyst.
I fully support hard work but I want to make my point clear that,
Examiner never expects an aspirant turn out a vocabulist or a grammarian(no offense).

Correction and addition by other respected members and aspirants would be highly appreciated
