No need to outline your answer... you have got 30 minutes almost to attempt your answer.. writing in bullets may save your a lot of time.. as I attempt paper more in bullets form; that save me from unnecessary verbosity of full sentences.. it also makes the examiner feel at ease while going through your paper... just capture the central idea and give it in a bullet form..

For example,

if you give this heading

[B]Causes of Poverty[/B]

Then your sub-heading let say include

[B]"Low Literacy"[/B]

Then I think that's suffice. You need not write under this sub-heading that:

Low Literacy is a factor that causes poverty in Pakistan..

That's complete waste of time and also a kind of bugging the examiner.

Buddy, I'm appreciative of the fact that you have a different approach; however, I think I make my bullets more eloquent that don't need repeating or regurgitating facts first in heading and then do sugar-coating of my heading with unnecessary words. I believe that bravity is the soul of wit. How it sounds two plus two is 4. And contrast it with "when we add two with the two, we get our answer which is four and it is the correct one". LOL!! Such approach would seriously make me sick!! LOL!! My Professor has been examining the papers and he advised me to be careful and precise in selection of words; regurgitating or repetitive-facts in different style doesn't earn a good credit for the candidate.

You should write your answers as though you're writing an article in a newspaper. If you have good language skills, flaunt them.

Making underlined headings and subheadings with black pens and then reducing your answers to points are traits most commonly found in students who have been through the Matriculate/Intermediate systems.

Buddy, your selection of words matters that conveys the gist or central idea of your argument. For example, today in IR paper one of my key bullet point under main heading in last question was:



In Question it was asked how Allies could avoid WW2

Way-Out (My main heading)

Following these policies could be way-out

1.> Continuing policy of Détente

(I didn't further explained it in this way: Policy of Detente is very good and peaceful mean and if it were followed consistently; it would have sorted out the problem and prevented the WW2)

Now tell me what is missing in my bullet point which I also "substantiated" in these few lines given in parenthesis. I think that conveys the central idea of these couple of lines in just four words; "Continuing policy of Détente"

Rehan, I will explain it in detail after 8th March when my exams are wrapped up. But on the short note, essay has a specified format and we both will stand in agreement about the format of essay. However, my approach is different towards other subject which don't require a literary format; what is more required is your concise but all-encompassing analysis without relying on too many words. Honestly, that is a challenging task; its easy to write few sentences but developing a concise central idea with few words is something that requires a mental exercise.
