I prepared Journalism objectives from Jahangir Series 20 questions book and luckily nailed all 20 of them (all of them were taken from the past papers in 2010 paper.) I consulted Exploring Journalism by Mirza Yousuf only for the theoretical portion. I didn't get to make notes for any subject except Islamic History and just went through the books a couple of times (how's that for a tip?) :D
I think one needs to determine what exactly works for him that's all. Had I got time on my hand, I would've gone through the things a bit differently. I knew 3 to 4 months time wasn't enough for me to go through such extensive syllabi (specially of optionals.) Anyhow, I just needed to get the hang of it you know.. which I sure did. I knew beforehand that I was gonna get thrashed in optionals. My scores are pretty much what I had expected.
Bottomline: Give adequate time to each & every subject and figure out a strategy that works for you... and don't forget to make notes! :pp

I have shared my experience of essay here. Apart from that, I wrote 7, 8 pages in all (leaf that is) and drew a very extensive outline earlier which took me almost an hour. I wouldn't recommend that approach though, since an hour is way too much time that you ought to be giving to your outline. It should be half an hour at most. However, I tried my best to summarize everything in the remaining time and was very cautious regarding grammatical and spelling mistakes (which obviously explains why I didn't get to write thoroughly.) I don't know if this approach would work every time, but you asked and that is why I am sharing the way I did it. :)

For Constitutional Law I had a question-answer type book, titled as World Constitutions by Sohail Bhatti (originally written by some Indian author). The book comprehensively covered all important css questions with great depth and countless quotations. I also used to check the internet for latest constitutional developments.
For Political Science B, I had "Political Science Theory n Practice" by Mazher ul Haque.
I hope you too get excellent marks in these subjects. Godspeed!!
