dear thnx for such a useful post, because from your mistake others will learn a lesson .
seniors always say that don't attempt such essay in which even a single word is confusing. the mistake u did was that you guessed abt that, you were not sure.

m not sad because i attempted essay wrongly......i m sad because i could attempt 8 of the essays in the paper, like status of women, communication, media, etc.....but i chose the one, which i must have not !!!!!

sory bro' i suguest that one should be slect that essy which is very clear in comprehension. confusing topics should be avioded. it is very easy to write down your thougts when u are axectly aware of the pen pic of the topic. simple and common topics are more scoring as compare to those which are tricky.

First of all definitely one should not attempt an confusing topic, I was also in situation like yours but then I made the outlines of all the essays which I was able to attempt easily and then decided that the first topic will pay me best. Secondly in my opinion it is not mentioned anywhere that it was necessarily a term of literature. You can attempt any topic which you can interpret well and if you have done this and justified your attempt think you have got it right. Hope for the best.

now that he has committed what he thinks is a mistake ...it is easy for all of us to comment that one should not choose a tricky topic! but you are missing the main point he selected the topic because he thought he knew about it ...and on a bad day everyone of us can commit such a mistake...

i attempted the same essay. just i wrote about it in the sense that it was supposed to be interpreted. but when i came out of the paper most students hadnt understood the statement and gone with some other essay. the rest had guessed some other meaning. consequenly by the composition paper i was actually concerned that maybe i was wrong.

i had to go consult my english teacher just to calm down.
