in 2011 i opted sociology n journalism : do not know scores as i haven't received my dmc yet, may i replace the above mentioned subjects with geography or not ? i have sound knowledge about geography1 but haven't seen syllubas of geography2.

Don't change your optionals as the time is too short to start for a subject from a scratch. Moreover after having a look at few DMCs shared by the fellows it seems that both Sociology and Journalism have fetched decent scores in CSS 2011. But still if you have decided finally to replace them with Geography then keep in mind that usually its paper I which troubles aspirants because its a bit technical. Paper II is quite general and is much easier to cover.

Dear Farah,
although i'm still in process of filling my application and finalizing my subjects, of which sociology is confirmed, I wanted to know which books are you preparing from for socio. I had previously studied sociology in A levels.

I would suggest those who didn't qualify this time round, must appear in 2013, provided they don't fall out of age limit, reason being, its better to avoid frustration and get allocation by comprehensive preparation rather giving your luck another chance to click in 2012.
Because it becomes very dificult for a repeater to collect the required motivation level in such a short time. I know people will not follow this direction but its is an expert advice as Haste Makes Waste!!!!
