@khadija, alina and everyone else
i want to know about your plans and preparation strategy as i feel myself totally stuck in between
as far as i am concerned i am still on the same position amending my strategy again and again where nothing is working for me and i am extremely worried.
i am not able to continue everything at the same time
please suggest me what to do?
should i start only one subject and cram it and then go to next?

p.s people what sources are you following to prepare pairs, idioms, and other grammar stuff? and how many of these one must do?

i have got a list of 300 idioms that were in past papers from some links. are they going to be enough?
so in need of help

Idioms: Practice all past idioms and purchase a book of it named "phrases and idioms" by jahangir. Just understand the tendency of idioms and attempt them in your own sentences. Apart from that point out new idioms form n.papers and learn the way to attempt them accordingly. I used to read idioms and also practiced them a lot in a separate register.

POW: Purchase a book of it by Imtiaz Shahid. That's a little book which contains all past POWs. I followed this book and prepared my own notes. I practiced them a lot but in CE14 they skipped this question. I am sure in the upcoming attempt this question would be asked hundred percent insha'allah.

Precis: I have its book but forget the name. The cover of book is in white colour with green writting. It is past solved precis of CSS exam. I practiced all precis of CSS exam and I attempted my precis to the level of perfection to win the race in CE14. Note: Practice it again and again then get your precis checked by someone who knows it well. Plus, don't forget the basic rules of it to attempt perfectly.

Expansion: Just read Mirza's book. It is more than enough. But do practice as much as you can. I read the book completly and I used to get my write up checked by one of my friends who is DMG now. She must be reading my this post

Synonyms and Antonyms: Read etymology and get remembered aptitude 2000 words by heart. Besides, I also practiced GRE vocabs. I purchased Jahangir's vocab book, it was also fruitful I could not read it completely but all the vocabs were from this book. Hence, if it is possible, read it completely and just cram it according to the art of etymology.

Narration: Just learn six rules and you are done. If you want more perfection, then just attempt its past papers. That's more than enough. In this regard, Discovering of Jahangir is the best book.

Correction: I read this portion from both books exploring and discovering. If you have read both of these books that means you won't miss even a singe correction insha'allah..

Note: Friends, I took this paper lightly and due to this blunder I failed in my very first attempt. Thus, don't take it lightly and practice it on daily basis.

I will try to post my strategy at later on that how to complete all the portions to the level of perfection.. Every portion needs suitable time and comprehensive strategy. Because you can't do it to the level of perfection without a well planed strategy as per current trend of CSS exam. It needs both hard work and commitment but smartly.

It was my own strategy to cross the aag ka darya

And FCR, the legal framework that governs the people of FATA is probably the most glaring example of this inhuman attitude toward the Pakhtun nation by the state.

A product of colonialism, FCR has evolved over the years but has failed miserably to amerliorate the conditions of common Pakhtun living in FATA areas. Even the measures taken by last government remained largerly unimplemented. Collective punishment, that inhuman vestige of colonial rule remains with no jurisdiction of either Higher or Supreme courts. Add to that the strategic games played by security agencies, the Pakhtuns has suffered immeasurably in every possible way.

Today, more than ever before, it is enormously important that the state integrates FATA more tightly into the Pakistani state. Either FATA becomes a separate province, or is ruled by a council akin Gilgit-Baltistan or amalgamated into KPK, the state must decide with alacrity. To let it fester will bring only disaster, and that is one thing Pakistan can not afford in the post 2014 scenario when US forces leave Afghanistan and the latter most probably will be facing huge challenges to the nascent state.

Is it any good?
Its very good. very strong vocabulary (I need to open dictionary again & again for having even glimpse) Keep writing

I am agreed with the suggestion of our senior "exclusively". Well, as per me; we may practice idioms, pow, vocabulary, abbreviations, units, writing practice etc on daily basis but we have to keep one or two subjects at a time not more than that i.e. EDS, Pak Aff or Islamiate & I am suggesting you as per my calibre. I cannot handle many subjects at a time.

You better know your calibre. In addition to that, You need to relax. Just leave CSS for 2-3 days & keep yourself calm. If you get panic then eventually you will lose what you can do so. Don't pressurize yourself so hard, its just the beginning of the journey, dont drive rush, just move steadily with consistency.

I myself could not studied anything from the last 2-3 days and it may be because of monotonous routine but we need to be consistent. Plus, its Ramdhan, so relax & dont be upset. Its happens. Just be focused.

We may adapt our strategy. So Please come forward & suggest.

Prayers,
Khadija

@Khadija and Lutuf: Thank you for sharing your views and answers.
Lutuf, yes, the withdrawal of US forces would have a negative impact on Pakistan but in what ways, thats the question. Secondly how do you perceive US-Pak relations beyond 2014?

Khadija: The seniors would be able to guide you better but I am of the opinion that one must write current issues rather than history in the current affairs paper. ( I might be wrong but this is my opinion )

@Zoya: I want you to relax first of all. We are more or less in the same boat. Just have faith in yourself and keep on working hard. I don't have any special strategy but yes I am following one subject policy at the moment. Plus I don't believe in cramming stuff. I like to understand a concept and then learn it. If you need any help, you're most welcome to ask me ...Other than that, I feel the seniors would be able to guide you better. Just believe in
yourself!
