My optional subjects are the same as they were in CE-2014.

I am committed to my optional subjects whatever the outcome is. After all I know that I wont regret after taking a bold stance and difficult combination. One has to cross the hurdle of insecurity in order to win. I like challenges in my life.

I dont have any difficulty with Indo-Pak History. It greatly helped me in Pak Affairs. I treated Indo-Pak and Pak Affairs as one subject while preparing for CE-2014. I have alot of interest in Political Science. And as far as Economics is concerned, it is the back bone of my Educational Qualification. I have consulted at least 3 to 4 books plus notes from various sources for every optional.

Keep practising. Never put yourself in swamps. You will make your mark if you sustain your commitment and determination. As far as english essay is concerned, it needs more writing and more reading. The more you read the more you write. Keep practising once or twice in a week and get it checked by a senior teacher. you can also post your writings here so you will be guided promptly. Keep you morale high :)

All the optionals you opted are scoring. As far as geography is concerned, it is bit technical and needs some kind of academic background. If you are content with this subject, it would fetch good marks. Good luck to you !

Public administration is both scoring and quite easy, questions are always predictable. Ponder over the past papers and jot down the repeated questions. You can cover it in 20 days with 3hrs daily.

Public Administration :)

hafiz mubashar Friday, October 03, 2014 11:59 PM

As Journalism and Public Ad are considered equal in score-fetching, your confusion is obvious. But if we decide according to the 2014 papers, i would go for Public Ad. Syllabus is specific and short. You can fetch good marks. But if you have studied Journalism before and have a command over analysis, then you may go for Journalism.
A good strategy is to see 2014 papers of both, ask yourself that whether you can attempt former or the latter in a better way.

habibaa Saturday, October 04, 2014 12:06 AM

How to prepare p ad? Books strategy etc

I havent studied either of them but I think journalism can be hard againlike this year thats why I am confused
How to prepare p ad? Books strategy etc
Consult Dr Sultan Khan's Public Administration. If needed, also read Personnel Administration also. For MCQ's, buy Jahangir's or Emporium's MCQ's booklet
For preparation, download the Study Plan from http://www.cssforum.com.pk/css-optional-subjects/group/public-administration/40909-study-plan-public-administration.html

Appearing for the first time. Initially I was thinking about appearing in 2016. But as per parents wish I'm going to attempt this upcoming year. I know I have short time but I think I can do it. But I'm having a little problem with finalizing my optionals. So I'm open for suggestions from seniors.
Psychology
Public Administration
Journalism
Sociology
International Law/Sindhi (this is where i need a little help)

I don't have enough time. And have to go through a lot of books so I am looking for a subject I can cover in short time. I like International law subject and I think it will definitely help in my other subjects including Current Affairs and Essay. But I'm not sure if this subject can be covered in short time.. well, if it can be then guide me in this regard.. I am not much interested in Sindhi subject even though it's high scoring so please help me out in here.. thanks

And about your Essay preparation question:
In first few days I'm going to work upon techniques of better writing. Then I'll proceed towards making a probable list of topics/areas where I should be focusing. Then after reading and collecting data (as fast as i can) I'll move towards daily attempting essays on those topics (I won't select topic on my own, my friends will.. so I won't know what topic I am going to get). At first I am going to give myself 2 and half hours for completing essay and then I will try it to complete it within 2 hours so that in exam I won't have time management issues which I often face. As far as source of reading is concerned I will refer to Newspapers, JWT, and contemporary affairs book (for background for some evergreen topics).
