Dear Hazelnut, I have joined NOA Islamabad (Ramzan Session) and I wanted to know whether I should look for an english teacher outside academy right now and start taking lectures or wait till the session ends in October.
Brother any idea about the next batch?

syedarsalan Monday, June 12, 2017 03:22 AM

@hazelnut I have somehow got the impression that English teachers at academy are not very good, as most of the successful candidates I know despite having joined academies took lectures from English teachers outside academy. I don't know yet whose teaching there but will let you know tomorrow.

@hussy72 I think they launch two sessions every month but next session will probably start in July. You may want to reach them on this number: 03235045013.
Sir study plan I already told but I l elaborate a bit for you

CA: i divided the topics per day... Read the topic from lecture from Google see if it has ever come in past pprs...and try to make a summary of topic

PA: Same divide the topics per day, did pre partition from o levels book and a post here... Post partition: get a timeline of imprtant events and then prepare that...prepare important events in details esp ones mentioned in syllabus..rest is CA

Islamiat... This one is simpler...divide the topics check past papers... And prepared from books I already mentioned

Ed's: Google,Wikipedia and SlideShare...check past papers too

English: do vocabulary 15 words daily plus 10 of something from pair of word etc...write one precis n solve one comprehension, one translation on weekend

Essay I have mentioned start with paragraph writing and work towards essay

That's all
I started properly in August so I started these in August too... But why not in July..the sooner the better... And it's not like once you finish a list you know it by heart... You will have to revise it 2,3 times to make sure you know it

Lists for English precis & composition paper

Those who need lists of GRE vocabulary, pair of words, idioms etc they can find everything in a single book written by CSP Hafiz Karim Dad Chughatai published by Caravan publishers. It has GRE list of 3500 words. It is the best book available in market for CSS precis and composition paper. Previously suggested books are not enough. It also has extensive lists of pair of words, idioms, phrasal verbs, prepositions, one word substitute and antonyms.
I am suggesting it because I have bought 4 books for this subject suggested by many of seniors and nothing really fulfills demand of new syllabus. This book is best so far and after that book you need not to prepare lists from anywhere else. Compiling lists from various sources takes a lot of time. This book has everything complied in it. If someone else has its latest edition, I am sure they will agree with me.
