what are the highest marks ever in takken in accounting?And can I take this subject without having background but I have 3 years left for css preparation.my maths is good.

I dont know about the highest marks...but I wanted to clear one thing that if you are good in Maths that doesnt means you will be able to handle this subject easily...if you dont have any background of this than dont opt it as it is of 200 marks and it required more expertise...

no idea about the highest marks in accounting. you may opt accounting if u ve worked hard for accounting and related subjects in bachelors/masters degree. what is ur qualification?

my dear..you will have to do graduate before making your first attempt of CSS, do your graduation than think on these things...as your graduation will allow you to what to chose or what not....

rixwan rightly points out that u need to do graduation first. if u still desire to opt accounting optional subject then u r advised to do graduation in commerce. u then should do work hard on accounting and its related subjects in the graduation. The optional subject(accounting)of the CSS does not simply comprise accounting,rather, it consists of the following 5 subjects:

ACCOUNTING.
BUSINESS ORGANIZATION AND FINANCE.
COST ACCOUNTING.
AUDTING.AND
BUSINESS TAXATION.
