Asalam ul akum
ok dear tell me have u ever read about computer science. if yes then at which standard. 2nd the syllabous for computer science can not be covered by reading one or two books. I think first of all you should hav to learn about computer and its terminologies for that purpose I think the book name ' discovery of computer 2006 ' is the best book it is a introductory book for computer science.

Then u should read 'software engineering' by R.Pressman
which is much easier book and easy to understand lann sumervile is rather touf to undestand and more tachnical.

And for computer networks u must read 'computer networks' by Behrouz A Frozen that is most easy book for networks. Frozen used easy english but stalling used high class english and very technical words anf tanenbaum use very much history in it.

And for the Operating system and concepts 'operating systems and concepts' by silberschatz is the best.

And for the database u should take a book name ' database systems' by Thomas Connolly and Carolyn Begg.

For the c++ book name' how to program in c++' by deitel and deitel.

I think these r best books for basic level for the computer science. and for a such person who just hav listen the name of computer and unknown about the working of computer.
Just read these books if u meet any problem then ask to me I will try my best to help u.

best of luck.

Well

Discovering Computers 2009 by Shelly Cashman- complete -good for MCQs
Data Base Concepts by Thomas Connolly and Carolyn Baig- limited preparation
C++ Dietel n Dietel (1st 10 Chapters only)
OS by Siberschatz (limited reading)
Computer Networks
Software Engg by Ian Sommerville

If you read all of them you can score above 80 % marks for sure!

Franky speaking the course is really lengthy even the Computer graduates take long time to prepare and revise so plz choose the subject at your own risk!

@Amer

Data Structure by Schuam Series is much easy and comprehensive material book. I recommend you for that book for data structures.

And i forget the title but writter name was Mark Allen Wesis.

For graphics F.S Hills is most reliable.

Regards

hi sikander,

i m sorry i am also looking for the CS 2009 exam.
If you have done BS in CS then its a peace of cake.

there are topics which are mentioned in the syllabus. Follow them. decompose them into sub-topics and sub-sub-topics, there you go. Don't go to very tiny details.

Revolve around the main concepts with examples. If you need any particular help do mail me on my id!

one Q, are you from Rwp / Islamabad?
