Dear all . assalam o alaikum . seniors plz guide me about study programme of I. R. i want to opt it because it will be helpful in compulsory papers as well.also tell important topics of css 2015 and suggest some gud books as well.

It is quite difficult to prepare the whole syllabus of IR but whatever you prepare, respect the subject,IR is not current affairs and vice versa. To those appearing in the upcoming examination, my suggestion would be to focus on the following three parts:

1)Theories and Basic Concepts ( Realism,Liberalism,Balance of Power,National Interest,Foreign policy,Globalization etc)

2)Important Historical Events and Pacts (Treaty of Westphalia, Cold War, both world wars,Decolonization, NATO,EU,Bretton Woods institutions IMF,WB etc)

3) Current Global Happenings (Resurgent Russia and looming clouds of a new cold war,US-Iran relations and the significance of ongoing dialogue, New Afghan government and paradigm shift in AfPak relations, Phenomenon of ISIS and turmoil in Middle East,Policy options pertaining to the inimical designs of Modi government and MOST important of all Pakistan's recent shift in the internal security policy and future predictions)

P.S Aforementioned topics are just to give an overview you can include many more topics.My advice will be to prepare smartly and consult a good IR book.I found Peu Ghosh's book very helpful.There are other fine books available in the market. Best of Luck to all of you.
