@very special,

yes have to prepare the application as well because the main theme of a chapter or a topic is in the form of the application in a step wise process for example if you are studying about the Cell so you will get a strong hold on the study of cell by studing its application i.e. its organelles and its study is so called as cytology.

@very special

Dear i am the student of Biological science and dnt have any idea about mechanics but i gave you the example of cell to make you understand about the pattern of preparation as in every subject every topic has sub-topics or heading.as you have asked whether to prepare all the sub topic or not so my answer is to prepare all because the examiner doesn't give you the question in a direct way but it is in indirect way and may confuse you so preparing all the topic thoroughly enable you to tackle with every kind of indirect and conceptual question.
