[B]Malik:[/B] Honor, proprietor, in the Delhi Sultanate it meant the second highest grade of officer below khan and above Amir. [B]Malik Naib:[/B] Regent of the king, an officer authorized to act on behalf of the king. [B]Muhtasib:[/B] An officer appointed to maintain law and order in a municipality. [B]Muqaddam:[/B] Village headman, literally the first or senior man. [B]Muqta:[/B] Governor, person incharge of an iqta or a medieval province. [B]Mushrif-e-Mamalik:[/B] Accountant for all provinces. [B]Mushrif-e-Mamlikat:[/B] Accountant for the whole kingdom. [B]Mustaufi-e-Mamalik:[/B] Auditor for the whole kingdom. [B]Naib-e-Arz:[/B] Minister of war, of deputy of minister of war. [B]Naib-e-Barbek:[/B] Deputy Barbek, (officer incharge of the royal court). [B]Naib-e-Mamlakat:[/B] Regent or the King’s representative for the whole kingdom, authorized to act on behalf of the king. [B]Naib-e-Mulk: [/B]Regent of the kingdom. [B]Naib-e-Wazir:[/B] Deputy of the Wazir. [B]Qazi-e-Mamalik:[/B] The Qazi or the Judge for the whole country. [B]Qazi-ul-Qazza:[/B] The Qazi of Qazis, the Chief Justice. [B]Sadr-e-Jahan[/B]: Title for the central officer of the Delhi Sultanate, who was incharge of religious and charitable endowments. [B]Sera-e-Adl:[/B] Name given to Ala-ud-Din Khilji’s Market in Delhi for the sale of cloth and other specified commodities. [B]Shashgani:[/B] A small silver coin equal to six jitals or copper coins. [B]Shamshi:[/B] Pertaining to Sultan Shams-ud-Din Iltumish. [B]Shiqdar:[/B] Officer incharge of land measuring a shiq. [B]Shunha-e-Mandi:[/B] Officer incharge of the grain market.
