Salam
I think K.Ali is the best book to read. Moreover, if you want to focus more on the objectives you should read objectives of Jahangir and if available you should also consult Imtiaz Shahid. |

@dear chummy usman,
"A new history of indo-pakistan" by "K. Ali" is best and is in very easy language. do not be confused. and the web site suggested by Madam Janeeta "www.storyofpakistan.com" is also worth visiting. go with these two initially. |

@ Usman
According to me... Bhatti has written from purely examination point of view and his book is in question answers form....it is quite exhaustive as well......so u may concentrate on Bhatti's and also Bhatti,s MCQ's are good for objective types .However,if you want in depth analysis and some best quotations to cite specially on the questions pertainnig to culture and society ...Dr. S.M Ikram's "Mulim Rule in India and Pakistan" is good(BUT AS AN ADDITIONAL READING FOR REFERENCING).....it is not bulky.......However at the moment you may concentrate on Bhattis...According to me K.Ali is good but bit sketchy while Bhatti though not being an historian/history teacher has consullted/taken from veriety of books and compiled it..... I suggest, Go for Bhatti!
K. Ali and Bhatti's books are good for short preparation time like now. But for detailed reading, references of Historians and especially for making notes go for MAJOR TARIQ AWAN'S HISTORY OF INDIA AND PAKISTAN in 2 volumes(costing more than a thousand rupee for 2 volumes). but for short time of preparation go for Bhatti because it has ready-made question answer format. Bhatti's MCQs are good too. All in all Bhatti series is must have.
Best of luck!

@Erum asif
The previous papers of Indo Pak History are the best guide. Have a look at them and prepare accordingly, otherwise u'd get confused in motley collection of things useless from the perspective of exam.
