AoA

1) Muhammad Ghuri was afghan...or turko-afghan?

Muhammad Shahabuddin Ghauri (Muizuddin Muhammad ibne Sam Ghori) was a from Turk decendancy.

2) Did muhammad ghuri come to India only via khyber pass whenever he came?

Most probably he always came India through Khyber pass.

3) who wounded Muhammad Ghuri in the first battle of Tarain? was it Khande rai or Govind Rai?? who were khande rai and govind rai?

It was Govind rai/Govindraj who was a General in Tarain war and he injured Muhammad Ghauri. Govdinraj was a Rajput Chauhan and was a vassal/feudal chief of Delhi and sorrounding areas and was reporting to Pirthavi Raj Chauhan.

Khanderaj was also a Rajput Chauhan and General of Pirthaviraj Chauhan and was a vassal/feudal chief of Mahoba and Malwa.

4) who laid down the foundation of Muslim rule in India??Muhammad Ghur or Qutbuddin Aibak???

For all practical purposes Qutbuddin Aibak laid foundation of Muslim rule in India. Though Muhammad Ghauri annexed considerable areas of India into his empire but his empire was stationed at Ghaur and it was only Qutbuddin Aibak who started Muslim rule in India independent of any foreign land.

5) who succeeded muhammad ghur at ghazni and ghur??

Muhammad Ghaurib had no child, so after his death in 1206, his kingdom was divided into many parts by his slaves. Taj-ud-Din Yaldiz became ruler of Ghazni and Ghaur; Mohammad Bin Bakhtiyar Khilji got Bengal; Nasir-ud-Din Qabacha became ruler of Multan, while Qutub-ud-din-Aybak became the ruler of Delhi and started Slave Dynasty.

Thnks for such comprehensive reply
but;
in the light of your following answer;
5) who succeeded muhammad ghur at ghazni and ghur??

Muhammad Ghaurib had no child, so after his death in 1206, his kingdom was divided into many parts by his slaves. Taj-ud-Din Yaldiz became ruler of Ghazni and Ghaur; Mohammad Bin Bakhtiyar Khilji got Bengal; Nasir-ud-Din Qabacha became ruler of Multan, while Qutub-ud-din-Aybak became the ruler of Delhi and started Slave Dynasty.

kindly tell us; didnt ghiyasuddin mahmud, who was nephew of muhammad ghur, succeed him as sultan of ghur?? what was the role and responsibilty of muhammad ghur's nephew-Ghiyassudin mahmud...?

K Ali writes.
"After the death of his elder brother, Ghiyasud-din, in 1203, Muhammad Ghuri became the undisputed ruler of Ghazni, Ghur, and Delhi."

So thats cleared Ghiyas ud-din was his elder brother and not nephew. ANd that Ghiyasud-din dies before Muhammad Ghuri (1206) And after 1206 My senior respected member Tabbassum Shabir Awan has told you.

There was an other Ghiyasud-din (Balban) but he was crowned in 1266. Balban was crowned after Sultan Nasirud-din (1246-1266)

hello;

@ arbab

Let me make two points:

1) I was not refering to muhammad ghuri's elder brother who ofcourse we all know was Ghiyas-ud-din ghuri...I was refering to the nephew of muhammad ghuri.......According to K.Ali , " On the assassination of Muizuddin Muhammad bin Sam, his nephew Ghiyasuddin Mahmud, who succeeded him as Sultan of Ghur............"

so the question remains intact;

kindly tell us;
didnt ghiyasuddin mahmud, who was nephew of muhammad ghur, succeed him as sultan of ghur?? what was the role and responsibilty of muhammad ghur's nephew-Ghiyassudin mahmud...?
who was the master of ghur after muhammad ghur? yalduz or ghiyassuddin mahmud???
