Default Plz answer the following Question About agriculture

Q. Pakistan has experienced a good production of various agricultural crops like Wheat, Rice and Cotton in the recent past, but despite of this the farmers were generally not happy. What do you think could be the reasons of farmers’ frustration? Suggest possible solution of such situation

dear it is easy to observe farmer's frustration over their financial conditions eventhough they have gained windfall gains from their crops.

here are some reasons i think very clear due to which farmers are not happy.

1. low price of crop
2. market glut of the particular crop
3.government's inability to procure wheat and rice as last year happened when torrential rains have destroyed paddy crop in sindh
4.farmer being heavily burdened in debt

etc

besides this there may be some other reasons but these seem to be more important. for their solution u may suggest addressal of these problems.

dear ibrar you will have to make detail answer at your own... marilatif has given good points and you may revolve your answer on these points... following points may be added:

there is high cost of inputs for producing the crops like

- high price of good seed
- high price of pesticides and fertilizers
- scarcity of water in canals and in areas where there is no canal, the rate of tube well is high and electricity/diesel to run that tube well is also costly

but unfortunately farmer does not get good rates after harvesting his crops. to worsen the conditions mill owners do not pay on time and they often waste time while purchasing the crop, this wastage of time only detriorates the worth of crop ... ...

this does not mean that government should increase guarenteed prices of crops for facilitating farmers becuase this will lead to inflation and high prices of comodities for example last year our good government increased guarnteed price of wheat suddenly from 650 to 900 clamouring that it will do good to farmers but ultimately people are bent to purchase flour at more than 500 per 20 kgs. that govermnet policy only benefited very big land lords like our worthy prime minister but small farmers remained at loss becuase they had to pay exorbitant money to pay DAP/Urea fertlizers for producing ample wheat...

farmers can be happy by getting inputs at reasonable prices with easily availability of inputs.. ..

hope above will be helpful in making idea for answering the question.
