any one who wish to opt this subject in up coming CE

Yes. I'm the one who is seriously thinking to opt this subject. At the same time, I'm analyzing English Literature from the same group. English Literature is 90 per cent covered by me even at this time. If I don't opt English Literature, I'll surely opt Gender Studies. The final selection in this matter will be according to my Mentor and after a lot of considerations.
One thing more is that I'm still waiting to see some suggested books and material which can be available for Gender Studies. After having a glimpse, one can make better decision about it.

Count me in bro Gender Studies is a bit easy subject and less time consuming, let start preparing GS.:dd

m also thinking to go for gender study. i found this subject fairly easy.

I am also thinking to opt this subject but we all need that "one" book which would cover all the topics and will clear our concepts easily.

there is many books regarding GS. FPSC has suggested many books. like:
1. Theories of Women Studies Eds., Bowles. Gloria and Renate D. Klein
2. Introduction: Theories of Women Studies and the Autonomy/ Integration Debate in Theories of Women Studies.

3. The Social Construction of Gender (Lorber, Judith )

thinking to opt it... but confused because Forestry & Agriculture is also easy. :confused:

suggest some books according to the syllabus given by FPSC. secondly how can you say its not an easy subject?

Well gender studies is not only defining and identifying gender roles but it also includes gender diversity, Feminist theories and case studies. The complexity of the subject can be observed by the number of case studies and details of theories included in the course. Unfortunately, you wont find any good books on gender study in Pakistan since the subject is new here. You can gather the data online, or if you have access to any online book site like Jstore. Else, just stick to the books suggested by FPSC. Anyone with a background in English literature would find the subject easy.

Case Studies of Mukhtaran Mai, Mallala Yousaf Zai, Shermin Ubaid Chinoy are already mentioned.

I had very bad experience with agriculture last time. Never opt it if you dont have an agricultural background

i am also intended to take this subject as one of my optional subject..but i am confused from where i will be able to get such authentic data for commanding over this :(

Seniors, who have studied this subject as their major , must share their valuable experience in this regard. So, we will start our preparation towards it.

It was a different experience. It was based on research methodology which included interviews.
The course outline i can see on the site is much more introductory. Just stick to the definitions and analyze the concepts as per your perception.

I think net sufring would be best source for study materials..as it is the first tim of this subject to introduce in CE .so there should not be too much expectation in paper from recomended books..bcz the said books are recomended only for some relevant topics only.

why are the books focused on women studies rather than gender studies :P

I've also provisionally selected Gender Studies but I fear that when I see the paper I won't be able to control myself and rip apart all the feminist theories included in the course outline, then my paper is going to be checked by someone like Farzana Bari, who has spent her life teaching these asinine feminist theories, and she'll rip me apart in kind and that will be the sad end of my 2nd CSS attempt.:cry:cry

This seems to be the new Sociology of CSS (for people who wish to still opt for Psychology.

I am also planning to take it.
It seems like a great excuse to read about Feminism; my favorite topic.

I have decided to opt for this subject for CSS-2016, which is more out of compulsion than anything else. However, I am of the view that it's not going to be that difficult if prepared according to the requirements.

My brother easy subjects are those about whom u know already something. Otherwise no subjects is easy. One should opt those subjects in which he or she has some background
