Gender: A conflict or Solution

Gender is a social term that defines masculine and feminine. Masculine for man and feminine for woman, Again there are two terms man and woman. Now man is a creation of God that encompasses some qualities different from that of woman. Woman is a creation of God that has also qualities different from that of man. They are different in a sense of different characteristics and having different qualities. Thus, different does not mean inequality. The conflict takes place between feminist and male supporters when traditional and conservative norms and cultures suppress woman considering them unequal on the basis of only difference. All those qualities than a woman has, man does not. Thus, gender has been defined a set patterns and cultural behaviors that create masculine and feminine and attribute some traits to man and woman on the basis of their genders. This is the key point wherefrom conflict takes place. Thus, in spite of resolving, the gender based conflict, there comes only conflict. Now the following paragraphs will define whether supporters of gender equality have created conflict or they are endeavoring for resolution. This essay will focus on the gender based some misconceptions. There would be analytical criticism on some traditional social scientists’ concepts. How social scientists enhance the intensity of the problem of gender based concepts would be highlighted. Social scientists argue that the concept of masculinity and feminity is social construction. There are no set patterns for male and female. They further say that sex is a term defining biological being. On the other hand, gender is a term that is constructed by society. In a real sense there is no any concept such as masculine and feminine. Moreover, they argue that because of the socially constructed terms masculinity and feminity, society tagged some types of attributes on males and females. Such as man is bold while woman is fragile. Man is strong woman is weak. In this way, society has labeled some duties on males and females separately. Consequently, females have been confined and males have been given right to dominate the society. How far the social scientists are clear while advocating their theories, the following contradictory debate will unfold the reality.
Obviously, society has imposed many cruel and unbearable restrictions on woman on the basis of her gender. Society constructed an atmosphere where there males have been considered powerful and authoritative. But it would be extreme of thought when one says that the overall social construction of masculine and famine is a myth. Or socially constructed, confining women to extreme boundaries is inhumane. But eradication the very existence of the difference of woman as a woman is also against the very nature of the prevailing law. It is already said that difference should not be taken as inequality. Such as two flowers are different, they both have their own qualities and characteristics. They are both loveable having different qualities. Likewise, woman is a different being having different qualities. Man is different on the basis of different qualities. Their difference should be treated as their weaknesses. They both are powerful having different qualities. They both are as necessary as water is for any living being. They both are the perfection for the evolutionary system of the universe.
Biologically, the term is sex. It defines biological differences. Biologically, male and female are different. But biologically also they have their own equal ties and functions. Here also one cannot blame any discrimination or any type of inequality. The functions that a female can do a male cannot do that. Now here is the main and powerful point. Man builds his societal atmosphere on the basis of natural environment and natural/geographical consideration. Geography affects a lot on the societal behavior of the man. Where there is cold season, people would be cooling tempered where there is hot season people are hot-tempered. Thus, natural environment and geographical factor plays a vital role in the construction of any social trait. People wear thin and thick clothes having sense of season. Thus, gender construction is also the creation of some biological and natural elements. Obviously, society enhanced the social gapes and gave controlling authority to male. Resultantly, society became male dominant. In other words, society is the name of a participatory platform having male and female both. Without female, the existence of male is not possible. Thus, the sharing/participation in society would be based on competition or providing equal opportunities to the both genders.
In last, it should be kept in mind that difference is not negative connation while erasing the concept of masculinity and feminity is impossible. One should eradicate the taboo type traditions or beliefs that are labeled on females being of the society. Further, the term male dominant is the social construction. One can easily prove it. Moreover, woman’s weaknesses that are going to be highlighted again and again are also social constructions. Likewise, woman is caring, soft and touching these are attributions given to woman on her natural outlook. These are related to nature not society. Social scientists made the gender a conflict rather making it a solution.
