overt behavior means behavior which can be observed by watching an animal. this question demands that what observable behavioral changes an animal shows with change in its peripheral nerves system.

AUTONOMIC NERVOUS SYSTEM effects the behaviour of humans or animals significantly.
Somatic nervous system has maybe some sensory effect like moving towards warmer places in cold. So ANS and sensory part of somatic nervous system are the key here. Hope I am able to get my point through. |

Its obvious.PNS Specially autonomic plays a crucial role in determining overt behaviour of an animal. It'll decide what wud an inviduals response to a stimulus.
For example, you confront a dog by chance.ans will alarm you to escape the scene. Now,you'll feel fear, then your heartbeat increase,bp rises, eyes open and you'll find yourself runing...this is overt behaviour wich is determined by pns. Got it?

I think its more about reflexes plus the other voluntary(Somatic) and involuntary(autonomic) movements. However the emphasis is on Involuntary movements like increasing rate of heartbeats, pupil dilation etc. as a part of fight or flight response.
