Area of the sun covered by the moon Because the moon is too small to cover the area of sun. Quoted from NASA Website "Were Earth's Moon farther away, no total eclipse would occur at all because the Moon would appear too small to block out all of the Sun. Were the Moon much closer to the Earth, the eclipse would last much longer." http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap980311.html |
this article only says about the distance between earth and moon.If the moon is closer to earth there will be more solar eclipse. If the moon is farther from the earth there would be less solar eclipse. The size of the earth also matters.lets assume the earth is smaller than moon, than there will ofcourse be total solar eclipse
on the other hand if we assume that the sun is smaller then the moon, than there may be the possibility of total solar eclipse. But I reached at a conclusion that the distance of moon frm earth is more important. and both the answers a and d may be correct. rgds |
on the other hand if we assume that the sun is smaller then the moon, than there may be the possibility of total solar eclipse.
AOA Its good, you admit in your post that d. Area of the sun covered by the moon is the correct answer. If assumed, sun is smaller than moon means moon is bigger than sun means moon than cover the whole sun and formed the total solar eclipse. hence d is the correct answer. |
21 : which of the following is most elastic ?
Answer : Rubber how can we say that steel is more elastic in nature :S ??
Well even if we do not say that steel is more elastic, the Young's Modulus says that :)) Young's Modulus Young's modulus (E) is a measure of the stiffness of an isotropic elastic material. It is also known as the Young modulus, modulus of elasticity, elastic modulus For Rubber: 0.01-0.1 GPa For Steel: 200 GPa Elasticity It is the physical property of a material when it deforms under stress (e.g. external forces), but returns to its original shape when the stress is removed. The relative amount of deformation is called the strain. |

Young modulus does not tell about the elasticity of substance >>>
But it states the stiffness which means rigid , inflexible and hard to bend . of matter. & you represented the values of stiffness of rubber and steel such are Rubber = .1 - .01 GPa Steel = 200 GPa so in your point of view diamond is more elastic than both of them ... whose value is Diamond = 1220 GPa |
Young modulus does not tell about the elasticity of substance
But it states the stiffness which means rigid , inflexible and hard to bend . of matter.
Then how do we define elasticity and how do we measure it ? Elasticity is a measure of how well a material returns to its original shape and size i.e. it is the ratio of stress over strain. It does not mean how 'flexible' a substance is or how much it can be stretched. And the Young's Modulus measures the resistance of a material to elastic (recoverable) deformation under load. So keeping in view the definition of elasticity, we can say that Diamond is more elastic than both of them, i.e. it has more ability to resist the elastic deformation and return to its original shape.
so in your point of view diamond is more elastic than both of them ... whose value is Diamond = 1220 GPa
Yes, you got it right Diamond is more elastic than both of them Que. Elasticity = The ability of a solid to return to its original shape or form after being subject to strain.
i do not know its measurement you are only talking about theoretical .. just give me one practical example? well in my mind still gobs of questions arise ... a interesting one :P so why don't we use steel in our trousers :D or make a world most expensive trouser by using Diamond ? "Elasticity is a measure of responsiveness. The responsiveness of behavior measured by variable Z to a change in environment variable Y is the change in Z observed in response to a change in Y. Specifically, this approximation is common: elasticity = (percentage change in Z) / (percentage change in Y) The smaller the percentage change in Y is practical, the better the measure is and the closer it is to the intended theoretically perfect measure." |

Q. 8. v. Why has pasteurized milk more nutrition than ordinary boiled milk?
All milk on the market unless labelled "raw" is pasteurized. I don't believe there is boiled milk on the market. The pasteurization process however, heats the milk up to 161 degrees for about 15 seconds by squeezing it through hot pipes. |

universal recipient is AB
the ans to mcq given in eveyday sci paper asking 4 universal recipient is AB+. Bcz this blood group contains two antigens A n B n none of the antibodies. whenever , there is blood transfer, donor's antigens coaggulate with receiver's antibodies, if the blood groups r not compatible. but, as there r no antibodies in AB , so there is not any agglutination n AB cn receive blood frm any group.
|
sorry the universal recipient is ab while the universal donor blood group is O-ve.
what is cytogenetics? |
as i hv already mentioned that donor's antigens agglutinate with recipient's antibodies, same is the case here.blood group O- does not contain any antigens but contains antibodies A,B n Rh antibodies..so, O- is universal's donor.but,ab+ contains another Rh antigen, in addition 2 A,B antigens, due 2 which it is called as +(remember, ab- is the one without Rh antigen but with antibody) n also universal recipient.

Dear Brother,
Check out this answer..... (37) Monsoon is caused by: a. Seasonal reversal of winds b. Revolution of earth c. Movement of clouds d. Rise in temperature e. Rain forests The Correct Answer is (a- Seasonal reversal of winds causing monsoon). Monsoon, winds that changes direction with the change of seasion. It blows from the southwest, generally from April to October, and from the opposite direction, the northeast, from October to April. |
u are right to an extent but actually AB positive is universal recipient as it can also recieve blood with Rh negative as well as positive..and O negative is universal donor
|
ans to 8 mcq is non of these as it has not been yet established whether its is sex linked or autosomal but otherwise it wud me 1/4

more over it is also not known how many allels do diabetes have as it is not completely a genetic diesease and other factors also contributethe ques here is not abt genes but the diesease so try to see it from that point of view
