Post Democracy

Our country has never wittnesed true democracy. We actually dont even know the true spirit of democracy.
The forms of system that have prevailed uptill now in Pakistan are political dictatorship and military dictatorship.
There is a direct clash between feudalism and democracy.the dilemma of our country is that most of our politicians are feudals lords, how can we expect democratic attitude from them?
As long as feudalism prevails there will be no democracy.
Democracy is the best revenge from people for the sins that they never committed.
I wish there will be true democracy in our country someday.

Frankenstein of css will become famous soon enough
Smile

There are four pillars to democracy
1 Respect of public opinion i.e. their participation in public affairs e.g. elections, parliament, referendum and local bodies etc
2 Independence of justice
3 Free press
4 institutions to protect fundamental rights ie civil society
Its true the 1.1 percent feudal lords are amongst the power full elite class, mills elite, who have major grab in the politics but there is continuous process of urbanization and loosening associations
The coming age of capitalism in Pakistan would result in weakening of feudal tradition and as the world is now a global village there is no choice for establishment but to release their stringent control order and structure.
What we witness in last one and half year is an existence of civil society, the beginning of a free press and the eagerness of our masses to change their destiny
If we look at the election results the parties having anti establishment aplomb had more than 60 percent of the vote cast. Pml q and pro musharaf MQM and other (though they were winnable, no connection to their establishment stance) was only 33 percent albeit massive rigging of post polls, also rigging in Karachi and baloucistan with southern Punjab and also thar district.
Clearly a wind of change is blowing. The establishment hold will be over, one way or another. The biggest challenge remains with the elitist clique. What they have installed for the country if they keep on exploiting the masses, the conflict, it will lead to a bloody revolution
Democracy should be strengthened. The word democracy is much better than the best autocracy. It is now an axiomatic statement. Let the democratic institutions to found their feet just as they did in post US civil war era in grant presidency (we have to educate our masters). Also the precedent of king George era in Britain. If we look into history, our country is on the path of the era where the common man would be the master of his destiny
