The gas reserves discovered were estimated at 9,625 trillion cubic feet. Balochistan produces natural gas worth Rs.85 billion annually, but gets a mere Rs. seven billion as royalty from the Federal Government

The Sui gas is the single largest source of energy supply for industries, power generation, agriculture, commerce and domestic use all over Pakistan. It is also used for the manufacture of fertilizers and chemicals. While all the cities, towns and many of the villages in Pakistan enjoy the benefit of the gas produced in Balochistan, only the military cantonments, four of the 28 districts and 250 of the 28,000 villages of Balochistan enjoy the benefit.

Saindak project

The multi billion rupee copper gold and silver project is a classic example of government indecision

The Rs18 billion (US$297 million) Saindak copper-gold project in the Pakistani province of Balochistan has been run by a Chinese contractor on a 10-year lease without any independent monitoring for the past three years.

The Saindak project was based on estimated ore reserves of 412 million tonnes containing on average 0.5 gram of gold per tonne and 1.5 grams of silver per tonne

The project has the capacity to produce 15,800 tonnes of blister copper annually

Chamalang

The mines are located at the junction of Loralai and Kohlui districts of Balochistan providence

The 60-kilometre-long coal mines are considered the world's largest, which produces RS.300 billion coal per annum

Job Capacity 40,000 individual

Gawadar

Billion of US $ Super Mega Project every one knows about it

Gadani

The Gadani ship-breaking yard is a centre for the breaking up of derelict ocean-going vessels for scrap. The yard is located in Gadani, Pakistan, about 50 kilometres northwest of Karachi.

In the 1980s,the Gadani yard was described as the largest ship-breaking yard in the world, with more than 30,000 direct employees. However, competition from newer facilities in India and Bangladesh resulted in a significant reduction in output, with the Gadani yard producing less than one fifth of the scrap it produced twenty years ago. A reduction in taxes on scrap metal led to a modest resurgence at the Yard, which now employs around 6,000 workers.

Marble City Gadani

• Established in 2004 on an area covering 600 acres of land.
• The infrastructure facilities like roads electricity water supply and Telecommunication have been provided.
• Ten (10) units are in production.
• Four (4) units are near completion.
• Seventy Eight (78) units are under construction.
• Plots are available on deferred payment for Marble /Granite Mine owners to establish Ware Houses.

Mirrani Dam

Mirani dam is located on the Dasht river about 40 km west of Turbat in the Makran division, Balochistan. The project aims at provision of dependable water supply for development of irrigated agriculture on both banks of the Dasht river. This is the first Engineering Procurement & Construction (EPC) contract in the water sector under WAPDA's Vision 2025 Water & Power Development Programme.

The nomadic people solely depend on livestock whereas; the transshipments and sedentary people derive up to 40 % income from livestock. Livestock is considered as financial security and generate ready cash to meet family and farm needs. It also provides a cushion to agro-pastoralists in case of crop failures.

Mineral Resources in Balochistan

Balochistan possesses great unexplored potential of metallic and non-metallic minerals. Presently, the minerals being exploited are:

• Coal
• Chromite
• Barytes
• Sulphur
• Marble
• Iron Ore
• Quartzite
• Limestone
• Sulphor

Coal
Balochistan coal can cater to the existing and future energy requirement of our country to a great extent. More than 90% of coal is dispatched to other provinces for use in brick kilns.

Chromite
Sizable deposits of this mineral are found at Muslimbagh, district Killa Saifullah. Lasbela, Khuzdar, Kharan and Chaghi districts have chromite reserves. Private sector has been engaged in mining this mineral.

Barytes
The biggest deposit of barytes is located near Khuzdar with a total reserve of over 2.00 million tones. Scientific mining as well as grinding of this mineral started in 1976. Almost the entire production of barites is consumed locally by OGDC and other oil drilling companies.

Sulphur
Sulphur deposits are available at Koh-e-Sultan in District Chaghi. Three main deposits are clustered around the Southern half of the extinct volcano, Koh-e-Sultan. The deposits are of fumaroles origin and native Sulphur is found in cracks and as impregnation in volcanic tuffs. The Chief use of Sulphur is the manufacturing of Sulphuric acid etc.

Marble
Large commercially exploitable deposits are found throughout district Chaghi, starting from Dalbandin and extending to the borders of Iran. Some deposits are located close to Pak-Afghan border areas namely Zardkan, Siah-Chang, Jhulli, Patkok, Maskichah, Zeh, Chilgazi and Buttak.

Onyx, a dark green marble, found in Chaghi is of superior quality. Onyx of good quality is found in Bolan, Lasbela and Khuzdar districts.

Iron Ore
Chaghi, a mineral rich area, possesses nearly 30 million tonnes of iron ore. Geological Survey of Pakistan, in a report, states that there are 1 to 7 meters( averaging about 2 meters) thick hematitic sedimentary ironstone bed of Jurassic age(150 million years old) at the contact of Chiltan Limestone, and Sember formation of Cretaceous age (150-65 million years old) near Johan in Dilband area of Mastung district. The reserves have been tentatively estimated at over 200 million tonnes.

Quartzite
This is a relatively newly discovered mineral. Its deposits are found in Lasbela district.

Limestone
Limestone exists in abundance in different parts of Balochistan. Several hundred meters thick layers of limestone, at places dolomitic, occur in Chiltan Formation of Jurassic age in Quetta and Kalat. Limestone of Cretaceous age, 300 to 50 meters thick, is widely found in Balochistan. Harnai, Sor Range, and Spintangi areas have reserves of limestone.

Sulphor
Sulphor deposits are available at Koh-i-Sultan in Chaghi district. Three main depoit are clustered around the southern half o the extinct volcano, Koh-i-Sultan. The deposits are of fumaralic origin and native sulphor is found in vugs, cracks, and as impregnation in volcanic tuffs. The chief use of sulphor is I the manufacturing of sulphuric acid and explosives.

Thumbs up @Faraz_1984

This is wonderful illustration of what kind of blessings Almighty has bestowed upon the people of my Homeland "Pakistan".

The only job we are required to do is to work together for the betterment of its people and make it a heaven on earth.

May Allah help us all in doing that (Amen).
