Default Immigrants of Swat & Sindh.

JSQM, MQM oppose setting up of IDP camps in Sindh:

Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) workers staged a protest demonstration against the setting up of relief camps for the NWFP IDPs in Sindh.

Both sides discussed the issue of IDPs in a half hour meeting and agreed that they needed to strengthen their contacts for a joint stance on Sindh-specific issues such as the IDPs affair. The JSQM delegation expressed hope that the MQM would become a part of the peaceful strike by JSQM.

Imran Khan’s Stance:

Lahore, May 24 (ANI): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan has criticized the Sindh government for its decision to ban the entry of Swat immigrants to the province.

Terming the government’s decision as ‘unconstitutional’,Khan said no one can deny the entry of civilians into any part of their country, nor can they be asked to register themselves before entering another province.
He blamed the MQM for pressuring the government to take such an unlawful move.

“It is shameful that the MQM is not ready to shoulder the responsibility alongside its partner the PPP of the fallout from this ill-timed and ill-planned military operation,” Khan said.

The cricketer-turned-politician said the response of the MQM-PPP coalition in Sindh, in this time of tragedy, was turning the crisis into a potential ethnic conflict.

Khan urged the country’s leadership to allow all the immigrants to move freely across the country without any need of registration or anything such similar barriers. (ANI)

ANP Says:

Awami National Party (ANP) Sindh President Shahi Syed said on Friday that the internally displaced persons (IDPs) should be taken as ‘affected’ people rather than immigrants.

He said that it should be highlighted that they were in fact victims of terrorism. He appealed to all patriots to help their brothers and sisters in their time of need.

Syed also expressed his profound grief at the incident in Kashmore of Rangers and political groups stopping buses carrying IDPs, and also conveyed his sorrow over the refusal of Sindh and Punjab to accommodate IDPs in their provinces.

He said that the affected should be allowed to go anywhere in the country on account of being a Pakistani national. He also appealed to the government to take immediate notice of the incident in Kashmore as well as the banning of IDPs’ entry in Sindh and Punjab.

Hijrat-e-Madina:

Rehabilitation of the Muhajireen.

To rehabilitate the migrants from Makkah in the society of Madina, the Holy Prophet established a fraternity among the Muslims of Makkah and those of Madina whereunder each migrant was paired with an Ansar of corresponding status. The brotherhood thus established was unique in the annals of mankind. So strong and cordial were these bonds that they even surpassed the relationship of blood. In this roll of brotherhood, Abu Bakr was paired with Khaarij ah bin Zaid Ansari. Abu Bakr's relationship with his brother-in-Islam was most cordial which was further strengthened when Abu Bakr married Habiba, a daughter of Khaarijah.

Constitution of Pakistan:

Article: 15 Freedom of movement, etc

15. Freedom of movement, etc.- Every citizen shall have the right to remain in, and, subject, to any reasonable restriction imposed by law in the public interest, enter and move freely throughout Pakistan and to reside and settle in any part thereof.

Although I disagree with Imran Khan on the operation against militants, I tend to agree with him on MQM's double standards viz the IDPs. Lets not forget that the MQM was the only party which opposed the Nizam e Adl regulation in the National Assembly. I have read a number of statements by the 'Quaid e Tehreek' calling on the local people to rise up against the Taliban. Now that they have finally stood up, sadly they dont see Altaf Bhai by their side.

Tch tch.
