It is an attempt to catch public attention by exaggerating facts and making mountain out of molehill. Unfortunately yellow journalism has completely poised our media and made it indifferent towards following the ethical and moral practices. It is flooded with spicy fables giving little attention to art, literature and real social issues.
. The case in point is an apt illustration of yellow journalism. He has given the impression as difference in paisa goes to Petroleum distribution companies and Govt. officials. It is untrue. The fact is that

1-Price of innumerable commodities/goods, not only the petroleum products, is set in terms of pasias. The reasons being exchange rates (Foreign Exchange market is game of pasias as fluctuation of a single paisa may cause a mountainous effect), applicability of taxes and duties and product pricing strategies of the companies.
2-Its negligible benefit, if any, goes to only retailers, the petrol pump owners in the current scenario. However this is negligible amount that do not merit any consideration.
3-The purchaser has all the rights to demand the residual pasias but due to its immateriality no one would bother about it.
4-It is a universal business norm (especially in small currencies) to ignore minor amounts and round off the figures.
5-Setting the prices in terms of paisas may benefit the purchaser while purchasing more than one units of a commodity.
6-There is a concept of “materiality” in accounting practiced across the globe. This concept permits accountants to ignore the minor amounts and round off the figures to closest absolute amount. If Chaudri Sb consolidate all these ignored figures ,it will give him a hugeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee amount.

Well Javed sb didn't realize here we use automatic fuel pumps which works by putting an amount on the panel so even a penny doesn't go wasted.
