Appointment of Chairman

fellow candidates lets pray that the new chairman is appointed asap coz i tnk our interviews process will get late.
there is no news regarding the appointment of new chairman and from the looks of it i dont forsee the appointment of the chairman in this month.

fpsc is planning to start the phsychological test and interview and wait a little for the appointment of the new chairman otherwise they'll arrange a panel from the present members.

anybody having any sources or any news regarding chairman do post it.

peace

Some more info

Currently there are seven members as opposed to the required nine. Two out of these members will be retiring soon, one this month and the second next month. This will further strain the resources of the board, which is already without a chairman.:blush:

Nate Tuesday, November 10, 2009 01:13 AM

Whose retiring this month n who retiring the next month oh for God sake interviews ka kiya ho ga ab

Tauqir Mehmood Wattoo Tuesday, November 10, 2009 09:19 AM

@chairman

dear fellows!

commission is unable to manage it all without chairman because chairman is having 50% marks in his hand while rest of the marks are distributed among other members. it may become a matter of conflict if a member would chair the penal. chairman fpsc is a constitutional post and must be filled. in my humble opinion, interviews can not be started untill and unless new chairman is appointed.

regards

It is a good news for those who qualified css in 2009 and those who will qualify in 2010 and 2011 for they will not have to undergo unnecessary delays for announcement of result or allocations as we 37th commoners had to wait for so long.

Sajid Sadeem Friday, November 20, 2009 06:24 PM

It is indeed a good news.

Is he that pco judge who resigned recently???

Umair Akbar Tuesday, November 24, 2009 04:38 AM

YEs he is the same one...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

y.rahman Tuesday, November 24, 2009 12:38 PM

What is this yaar??? He is a PCO judge tht means Mr. 10% will accommodate at least 50 of his favorites in ctp from next year. In this country, people are judged by their level of corruption. the more u corrupt, the higher u go. Pakistan Zindabad!

FPSC Chairman

This mean nepotism and favourtism will break all records.

Arif Rao Tuesday, November 24, 2009 03:25 PM

@all fellows:

I believe we all should avoid passing speculative comments. The standards of transparency set by the commission are highly respected all around the country. The candidates better prepare with patience for the proceedings of psych/viva and not pay heed to such rumours.

Cosmic_libertine Tuesday, November 24, 2009 03:59 PM

@Aaaaaaaalll

Dears Arif rao is right in saying so. we must not imagine any 1's role as corrupt or whatevr. v nevr no who is who and what is what in this world.. A criminal may well turn into a saint or vice versa in this world . so plz dont assign any role to an individual in advance. may be the said judge will become the most favorite of all times in the near future.. so plz no conjectures. lets wait for the time and see whot does he turn into..

cosmic libertine

I agree with arif rao and other guy but the thing is that in the time of such polotical chaos what was the need of such controversial decission....What a choice after 9 month delay "A PCO Judge" it seems as there is a short fall of unbiased people in pakistan

Hi,

i totally agree with Mr Arif Rao. We never know what may happen. The same person can turn to be the best for this job....n i believe it is also a rule of bureaucracy that everyone should be seen under the light of his performance....so i hope the decision turns out to b a good one for all the candidates.

zaheer baloch Wednesday, November 25, 2009 12:32 AM

I am really confused more than half of the current epic court judges including CJ are PCO judges .... they are clean and other PCO judges are dirty .... what a great discrimination.

Mumtaz Hayat Maneka Wednesday, November 25, 2009 12:37 AM

@All

There is no need to panic. From what i have gathered i can safely say that the right man has been given the job. Honesty and Integrity of Mr. Anwar-ul-Haq is above board.And as said by Mr. Arif Rao, nepotism and corruption in FPSC is highly unlikely. There was this fear that some stooge might be given the Job, but i would say that "Well done Mr. President for doing away with our fears and apprehensions".

Best of Luck to all who have to appear in interviews.

Regards

Bhagwandas declines FPSC job
Tuesday, November 24, 2009
By By Tariq Butt
ISLAMABAD: Justice (retd) Bhagwandas says some senior government officials offered him the post of the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) chairman in May this year but he told them that he is barred from holding any office till Dec 14, 2009.

They returned satisfied, he told The News. He informed them that clause 2 of Article 207 of the Constitution placed a bar on retired Supreme Court and high court judges to accept an office of profit till the expiration of two years from their retirement.

Justice Bhagwandas read out the relevant provision, which said: a person who has held office as a judge of the Supreme Court or a high court shall not hold any office of profit in the service of Pakistan, not being a judicial or quasi-judicial office or the office of chief election commissioner or of chairman or member of a law commission or of chairman or member of the Council of Islamic Ideology, before the expiration of two years after he ceased to hold that office.

The former judge said when the government made the offer to him he was busy with the assignment given to him by the Supreme Court about the examination of oil prices. After that, he said the government has not contacted him. However, he said he was hale and hearty.

Under Article 242, the president appoints the FPSC chairman in his discretion. A senior official source said the president was waiting for the end of the two-year constitutional restriction on Justice Bhagwandas to appoint him as the FPSC chairman, a position that is lying vacant for over seven months now.

Justice Bhagwandas had not refused to accept the slot when the government leaders had contacted him and he had just pointed out the two-year constitutional bar on him. If appointed, he would be the first retired judge of a superior court to become the FPSC chairman. Mostly, this slot has been given to retired Army generals.

Meanwhile, during a chat with this correspondent, presidential spokesman Farhatullah Babar termed incorrect a report about the appointment of former PCO judge of the Lahore High Court Justice (retd) Anwarul Haq as the FPSC chairman.

After Lt-Gen (retd) Shahid Hamid, who retired as FPSC chairman on March 30 on completing his three-year term, the office is lying vacant amid reports that the working of the organisation has suffered a lot with inordinate delay in making different appointments.

BTW if Zardari is really waiting for Justice Bhagwan Das t complete his term, then Mr. Zardari :bow

Sajid Sadeem Wednesday, November 25, 2009 02:00 AM

@bambam222

This report may be right as there is no news on the FPSC website for the appointment of chairman. And, we have yet to hear from Justice Anwar himself.
