Response to Pervez Musharraf during fund-raising campaign
Former President Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf has said that God-willing he would certainly go back to Pakistan and take part in elections. He said that the cancer of terrorism and extremism exists in Pakistan and there is dire need of informing people about it.
He expressed these views in a fund-raising campaign (telethon) for the flood-affected people of Pakistan. Majority of the viewers showed a harsh reaction during the programme. A retired brigadier said: “Pervez Musharraf, I have two shoes for you ...” and the line was dropped. Another viewer asked: “Where is the money amassed for Muzaffarabad? You should account for it.” One caller said: “You have sold out daughters of Pakistan to the US. Where are the dollars so earned?” Another caller said: “Tell about the many persons slaughtered by you in Lal Masjid.” Another caller said: “We can never forgive you for what you have done to Pakistan. You have plundered Pakistan to the extreme and you destroyed the country. Curse on you, curse on you.”According to details, while speaking in the programme, Pervez Musharraf said that he would very soon hold a similar telethon in the US in which Henry Kissinger and Angelina Jolie will also take part. “In the programme I will make an appeal to the Americans and Pakistani-Americans to help the flood-affected people of Pakistan, after which this process will continue.” The former president refused to reply to questions on controversial issues like Lal Masjid and the like and said that he would answer all those question separately. He said that was not an occasion for such questions. Making a comparison of the calamities of earthquake and floods, Musharraf said that in case of earthquake the rescue operation had taken 15-20 days whereas rescue work in flood-hit areas is still continuing. In the relief operation in quake-hit areas providing shelter was of utmost importance as snowfall was close at hand. However, in flood-hit areas shelter would not be much of a problem, but medicines and edibles will be needed now as it was then in the quake-hit areas. The call of the retired brigadier was cut off when he said: “ Musharraf Sahib, I have two shoes for you...”. Another caller asked Pervez Musharraf as to why he was not responding to the calls and why did he cut off the line? |

Gen (R) Mushraf is hero for thousands, mind-you!
Let me put some light on Mushraf's era, what he did with Pakistan during his robust tenure?
Economical boom, FDI increased, Patrol prices were stable, employment created, millions get jobs, around 20 new universities opened, empowerment for nation with strong local government setup, for the first time people noticed that economy is at growth stage with sufficient figures, stock market crossing 16,000 points, trade deficits reduced, more banks more investment opportunities for people. We saw development of basic infrastructure everywhere in Pakistan, roads, street lights, expenditure on education and health was doubled and even tripled. Merit-based jobs ratio increased (I am not saying it was 100%) poor was happily satisfied but its Media and some filthy politicians who destroyed his image. What if your younger son having brawny body asks you to give him 25% of your income when he is earning 10%? I am not justifying the murder of Nawab Akbar Bugti, but the fact is no one should go against the government, no one should dare to challenge the government, Mushraf had no personal tussle with him, while many independent sources confirmed the involvement of Indians in Balochistan, there sporadic visits to Dera etc. Negatives: Law and Order situation, suicide attacks, CJ issue, Bugti murder case, Lal Masjid etc, feudalistic approach opted by Gen Mushraf as he was not ready to forgo his office, got elected again. See the positives and negatives, compare his tenure with the previous tenures from 1988 to 1999, and see where Pakistan was when Mian Nawaz Sharif was overthrown and where was Pakistan when Mushraf resigned? Kindly be neutral. PS: I am neither Mushraf loyalist nor even supporting bugti’s murder. Regards,

Musharaf, a dictator, a military person, a grade 22 official, whose duty was to defend the borders of country, a security personnel by nature... i wonder people around here raising slogans in favour of him... hats off to you guy!!
I shall just say one simple sentence... he seems better because democratic people have not been able, so far, to give as much as they should have... dictatorship is never solution to the governing of country... 'cause it stinks.. it's democracy that represents the ordinary most. Mush gave lot of positive things.. but what man, if you build better democracy, how much of positives are you gonna get??!! well system needs to be transparent and corruption-free but at any cost it has to be democracy... Democracy is only future n solution of any nation... Rgrds |

I think the title of this thread is not appropriate. It is a bit too harsh and abusive. I am not a Musharraf supporter but still we must keep decency in mind. Moderators must take notice of this.
