I am not advocating drone attacks at all.

We have two options.

1. To allow drones with an efficient risk management to avoid loss of innocent lives.

2. To break Strategic ties with USA on war on terror and face the music.

sir,

i disagree with this approach.we have a lot of options to stop these drone attacks.it is just that we are not playong our cards wisely.what we fail to understand is that dependency between U.S and PAK is a two way phenomenon.america also needs us badly.it is just that the will by army and govt is not there.infact they have their cinsent in all this

for example

when america killed some of our security officials two three months back.we stopped their supplies.we played our card wisely and got the desired result without having to face the music.in short we have will there

we have a lot lot of cards for stopping this and i dont think relations in international world are confined to do or die sort of system.having said that we are also aware of the phone call from bush to musharaf before 9/11 attacks.

lastly had it not been waziristan but karachi(being droned) what would have been our response?it is just that the general thinking is that people of fata are less PAKISTANIZ and rest are more

And what about the strategy that USA gives the drone technology to Pakistan? so we can better manage surgical strikes. And it should cooperate with us, otherwise we have NATO supply line in our hand to teach them lesson. I am not agreed to give them free hand to "paisa phaink" and "tamasha daikh"
Can we stop supply for good?

yes,why not.if we have the option of stopping the supply for achieving our target we should do that.history also supports this move

other option is to stop cooperation in war against terrorism.(without PAKISTANZ assisstance war cannot be won in afghanistan and even the americans are aware of this fact)

it would not be a wise option on part of america to make us their enemy.we can increase their problems in afghanistan

PAK can give a hint of strenghtening its ties with iran.we can give hints of gas pipeline with iran.america would be really worried with this.

plus loosing a partner in south asia itself is enough to stop them from droning us.

Amazing, i wonder it can happen in pakistan where Diyyat case minimum takes 15 days PAISHEE but for VVIP Raymond Davis, it took Add. Session Judge seconds of time to make judgement and then the car was flown to Airport in fierce speed jamming all Signals just to show Raymond how we respect your visit in Pakistan.

LAHORE: Initial media reports surrounding the release of Raymond Davis suggest that the families of the victims killed in the Lahore shooting have left the country on a second plane. Their neighbours say they haven’t seen the families in two days and that their homes are empty and locked.

Sources say an aircraft carrying more than 10 people left Lahore airport and is headed to Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan. They also say the families have been given Green Cards and homes in New York state and Washington DC.

Raymond Davis' release paves way for Zardari's visit to US

The resolution of the case of CIA contractor Raymond Davis has paved the way for Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari's visit to the US and both countries have started working on dates and the agenda for the trip, officials said on Friday.

The US called off a trilateral meeting with Pakistan and Afghanistan after Davis was arrested in Lahore in January for shooting and killing two men.

The development also resulted in a delay in Zardari's planned visit to the US sometime early this month.

Davis was pardoned and freed by a Pakistani court this week after the families of the two men he killed agreed to a "blood money" deal of over two million dollars under Islamic laws.

Officials said Zardari is likely to visit the US next month.

The US administration has asked Pakistan to start working on the date and agenda of the visit.

Presidential spokesman Farhatullah Babar said that the foreign office had begun working on Zardari's visit to the US. "However, no date has been finalised as yet," he said.

Responding to a question, Babar said: "The president's visit to the US was not postponed but rescheduled owing to the Davis issue."

Officials and leaders of the ruling Pakistan PPP said Zardari's visit would assume greater importance in the wake of the standoff over Davis.

"Both the countries are redefining their relations and it will be up to President Zardari how he pleads Pakistan's case," a PPP leader said.

The agenda of the president's visit will be finalised in consultation with the military top brass, the PPP leader said.

Leading political analyst Rasool Bakhsh Raees said the US had learnt a lesson from the issue of Davis and it should now revisit its policy of sending security contractors to other countries.

He said almost all "thorny" issues between the two sides had been addressed during the standoff over Davis.

Raees said the president's upcoming visit to the US meant relations between Pakistan and the US were back on track.

"Both countries need each other, especially for the war on terror," he added.

Sad & Hard Facts!

I don't know If its just me that is stupid or is it everyone else .. I fail to Understand why Is the media and people of Pakistan not analyzing a simple aspect of Raymond davis case. People are saying things like "Oh why did gov helped him" and "oh, damn, the family took money" and they are not even considering something that's more important. Everyone now knows (Even the Americans agree) that Raymond was a Spy i.e CIA Agent. The Killings that he did should have been considered later but first he should have been dealt with as a spy. The punishment for a spy is death sentence (Correct me If I'm wrong) but I think that's the punishment for a spy .. Now, Raymond payed Diaat or whatever and was released BUT WHY DO PEOPLE FAIL TO UNDERSTAND THAT WITH DIAAT HE CAN GET AWAY WITH THE KILLINGS HE DID AND NOT FROM THE CHARGES OF BEING A SPY !!!! WHAT ABOUT THAT ?? No one on media and/or Gov or opposition even Raised this point .. killing is a very small thing as compared to what he was doing here i.e spying. Will they let go our spy If ever caught? NEVER .. so this is very funny, I don't think the political Opposition is so stupid not to consider this point which makes me think they were taken in confidence and as for the gov, everyone knows they were taken into confidence ..

Furthermore, people say that Gov of pakistan payed the blood money. I don't know if that's true or not but if that's true then what the hell is this? People are dying of hunger in our country, they don't get money and a spy will get money now to be freed? I mean what kind of logic is this .. the gov is paying someone who was working against our country and who killed people in our country?

Thirdly, The Most Important thing .. When someone even causes a small harm to the united states of America or other sovereign countries, they take some practical action .. look at what USA did to release their spy .. It was just 1 person .. just 1, and look at their efforts n see what happens with us .. Drone kills dozens of people and our gov requests for an "APOLOGY" .. This is not the 1st time and not the last time .. it happens again and again and the gov goes like "We demand an explanation and apology" so, even if they agree and apologize, will that do justice with people that were killed and their families? And Look at our COAS, what is he doing? Only saying "OH IT IS TO BE CONDEMNED" what is this? If pakistani army mistakenly drops a bomb in new york and it kills only 1 man, do you think they will let you go? lol and our leaders and army and everyone just say "OH IT IS VERY BAD" and "OH we condemn it" and "OH PLZ APOLOGIZE" what is this? sometimes I think that are we not CAPABLE of replying them boldly (i.e we don't have enough resources) or what is going on ..

Also, I heard that Imran khan has initialized a civil-nafarmani tehrik .. I don't know how well will it go but it might be fruitful if everyone goes for it but I know that everyone will not go for it and it will be forgotten within few days or weeks ..

In the last, I'd like to ask that can't we do anything about it? Just because our Army, Chief Justice & Gov isn't moving a finger and is giving our image of pakistan as cowards, we cannot also sit idle and criticize people .. we must do something but I don't know what should we do .. What do you guys think?

Usman Cheema Friday, March 18, 2011 04:12 PM

America is thankful to Pakistan on release of their bully and yesterday we received the first installment of thanks from them in the shape of six missiles on our inoccent brothers. 44 of them passed away in this celebration of joy by the Americans. God damn our rulers, God damn our General. Without any doubt they all will be dragged to the court of justice if not here in the next world Allah definitely is the best of the just providers.

it was pre decided that is why most journalist did not write column on it as javaid Chaudry wrote column about this and now his column was true.
We can not blame a single person What President and Gillani are doing They are the President and prime minister of this country. But i think Mian brothers are the President and Prime minister of Punjab.
We are divided in Groups. Sindh may MQM or PPP ki Hakomat. Punjab may ML(N) ki Hakomaat etc.
Now what President and PM are doing? President and PM of Pakistan i do not think so. because Punjab become another Pakistan where government is ruled by ML(N) not by PM and President

Government k sath sath heirs bhi is may involve hain Zabardasti Sign karwaye wah kia jawab dia. Tab protest ku nahi kia un logon nau tab media ko ku nahi bulaya jab sign ho chukay that or wo release ho chuka tha tab hi kahna tha zabardasti sign karwaye.

Now we all know the role played by every one equally. Though ISI n Army were the powerful players. But Role was evident by everybody, be it PPP, PML,ANP,MQM.....or Judiciary.....All were equally involved and are accountable.
There is nobody else from whom we can ask for accountablity or help in this case.
The only last solution is Public. If common people come out on roads and show their concern then definitely all these stakeholders will be forced to shake their intentions......or corrupt confidence....

no wonder the country once again is a laughingstock the world over.it is only because we are no longer a rulebased, law abiding independent and sovereign country.we do not take our own decisions.in the process the nation emotionally abused, see not what is and see what is not.Again a reflection of shameful legacy of servitude.

ok! according to my point dis matter is sorted out by the ISLAMIC LAW and decision is given by your court. So there is no matter to discuss it further and i think state cant interfare in this because when their parents or family pardoned him then there is nothing left, either he is still here or not. As for as govt is concerned, govt played its part so smartly. Masla b islmic law k accoring aur apnay country law k according solve ho gya aur america ko b khush kar diya sath main CIA b aur ISI b! so everyone now shud nt hav words to say anything alse!
