Spilt of Sudan: Any external motive behind?
South Sudan is separted into two nation-states -- Southern and Northern Sudan. There had been a very long long civil war going on between two parts of the state.
Southern Sudan is a chistian majority part whereas it includes more than 75% of the Sudanese proved oil reserves which, even during civil war and in the aftermath, makes 35% of the Sudanese export. Hence, with the emergence of new nation-state of Southern Sudan, the Northern Sudan - Muslim part - will loose 75% of oil and 35% of exports. There had been a long civil war for separation which was stopped through a truce signed in 2005. This means the inhabitants are well in favor of their separation, which is also proved by thier rejoicing on the separation. Do you think that there could be ulterior motives, if any, of any outside power? |

well sudan crisis has importance for the out siders, esp the US(not only in sudan but entire africa due to natural resources like Diamonds in Liberia and oil reserves in Sudan);the reason is oil reserves.since the muslims hav lost plenty of oil reserves due to balkanization of sudan, the chrisitans hold the resources, or even if the muslim territory has, they have been made economically weak and dependant upon christians.which make US to hav quick andeasy access to natural resources of Africa..under the cover of peace keeping forces, the UN is sucking these resources from the underdeveloped countries of africa,be it muslims or christians, the motive is keep them dependant upon the US..
plus i would mention here that the division of countries in southern and northern parts is the strategy of super powers started during the cold war.as they divided south vietnam, north vietnam, south africa, northafrica..southern part was pro america while northern part was pro USSR..and the entire world wasdivide into bi-polar system..first world countries was called pro US countries; second world were pro USSR and third world countries are developing or underdeveloped states..
