UN vote on Palestine...
United Nation's vote on Resolution to upgrade Palestinian status in UN to non-member observer, is underway. The resolution is backed by some 130 countries including France, Spain, Switzerland,while Germany and England abstaining from vote. If adopted it'll give Palestine two main advantages;
1. Palestine would be able to approach International Criminal Court for investigation of Israeli practices in occupied territories. 2. Palestine would be able to seek membership of UN specialized Agencies. What do you guys think of this development...? |

It is a very welcomed decision in favour of Palestine. It will help in direct talks between Israel and Palestine leaders as it was not working out before. The access to International Criminal Court will force Israel on bilateral talks which may be result in the peace of the entire region.

Why no? : There's no such urgency, since it won't really serve the Palestinian cause. Israel can't be expected to provide us her nuclear weapons and cooperate with us, the democratic distortions she's going through, her economic instability; the anarchy and political instability our recognition of Israel will cause in Pakistan plus the polarisation of public opinion and rise of extremist religious elements in our society. Consequently, Muslim world may recognise India's right over Kashmir. @topic: Good stance, but this will make Palestine endure even more. Israel feels that Palestine had violated previous agreements with her (1993 Oslo Accords), so she would act accordingly. They even would not transfer tax and tariff funds. But it's always good to speak for yourself. |

if yes, we can have strong diplomatic support from america,british. have access to the latest defence technology.neutralize or mitigate the indo-israel nexus.
AND NO, BECAUSE, we can lose the support of islamic countries as egypt lost after camp david accord.it will be on the cost of others islamic countries.these are not just sentiments but, even libral turkey is now a days at clashes with israel.now, question is that can we afford israel on the cost of other islamic 54(including palastine) countries?

un vote on palistine
recognition of Palestine by UNO is no doubt a welcome step; it has enhanced the worth of the organization in the eyes of aggrieved Muslim nations.
