Christian community houses torched
The sad incident that took place in Lahore earlier in the day is yet another representation of intolerance of our public. If there was any act of blasphemy, process of prosecution was present. Arrogant mob torched the houses to pay "KUFARA" for their past and future misdeeds. A shopkeeper joined the mob just after making many customers fool, a milkman had no more water to put into milk so he got an opportunity to show his religious zeal and police as usual did its perpetual job by watching the match from VIP enclosure. Government banned Basant but did nothing to ban insanity.
I am afraid, one day people would stop believing in Day Of Judgement and would start prosecuting and persecuting people by their own. Where has gone that tolerance which our Holy Prophet(PBUH) taught his followers? Have we forgotten that moment when His(P.B.U.H) shoes were filled with blood and He(PBUH) was still praying for their betterment? We asked for Pakistan because we thought Muslims will not be given their rights as a minority; we are proving this phenomenon. |

Dear its not about Christians, it was not about Abbas town, its about humanity. Humans and Pakistanis are affected in both these incidents. Not making a thread does not mean I didn't condemn attack of Abbas Town. Keep all threads and posts on one side just ask yourself, isn't it insane to burn houses for action of one person? Recall Mithaq-e-Madina and decide.

I would call it an other blow to the unity of Pakistan. We have miserably failed to transform ourselves into a Nation. Those so called ultra-Muslims who torched innocent peoples' everything including their confidence and sense of protection, would be even unable to recall a single hadith of holy Prophet S.A.W.. The attitude of Police was intolerable. The highly efficient police force of capital city could not even control a mob of just 4 to 5 thousands. I am amazed at the ignorance of provincial executive, this incident took place in their neighbourhood but they were sleeping. I am ashamed at my being human.

This is really inhuman to torch the property of innocents. And there is a greater need for teaching moral values to people. However, positive role played by Ulemas including the Khateeb of Badshahi Mosque is laudable. Additionally, dear fellows, such an intolerance is not existing in our society only. There are lot of example in neighbouring India where Christians and Muslims have been subjected to tortures by Hindus , it is the same India which was raising slogans for peaceful existence of every religion /minority and was negating creation of separate Muslim state. Then last year there were great tensions in Myanmur when Buddhist majority persecuted Muslim minority etc etc. So blaming Pakistan or became Pakistani is not a good thing. Another aspect is recent issue at Israel, where some Israeli Police persons entered into Masjade Aqsa and turned many things up and down including torturing people there including mishandling Quran! Thereafter, protests are ongoing in Jerusalem. Even yesterday, Israeli police raided Masjide Aqsa and baton charged Palestinian Muslim worshipers who were gathered at Masjid for Juma prayers.... No doubt, we must develop coherence and a sense of tolerance. Simultaneously, these issues are not so simple, Muslims are not hardliners than others as there will be no or very very little incidents where Bible, Geeta, GarranthSaab or any religious book is mishandled or burnt by Muslism! @ Aroojie Nasir, appreciated fellow. Stay blessed. @ dms664, brother this is not good to blame anybody in such manners (burri baat ) @ sabahatbhutta; controlling a mob is a difficult job and on such issues it is really very very difficult, so it may not be good to condemn our police like this. Depressing time for Pakistan.
Here are some basic facts from Islam and our Quaid:-
In 628 AD, a delegation from St. Catherine’s Monastery came to Prophet Muhammed and requested his protection. He responded by granting them a charter of rights, which I reproduce below in its entirety. St. Catherine’s Monastery is located at the foot of Mt. Sinai and is the world’s oldest monastery. It possess a huge collection of Christian manuscripts, second only to the Vatican, and is a world heritage site. It also boasts the oldest collection of Christian icons. It is a treasure house of Christian history that has remained safe for 1400 years under Muslim protection. he Promise to St. Catherine: "This is a message from Muhammad ibn Abdullah, as a covenant to those who adopt Christianity, near and far, we are with them. Verily I, the servants, the helpers, and my followers defend them, because Christians are my citizens; and by Allah! I hold out against anything that displeases them. No compulsion is to be on them. Neither are their judges to be removed from their jobs nor their monks from their monasteries. No one is to destroy a house of their religion, to damage it, or to carry anything from it to the Muslims' houses. Should anyone take any of these, he wouuld spoil God's covenant and disobey His Prophet. Verily, they are my allies and have my secure charter against all that they hate. No one is to force them to travel or to oblige them to fight. The Muslims are to fight for them. If a female Christian is married to a Muslim, it is not to take place without her approval. She is not to be prevented from visiting her church to pray. Their churches are to be respected. They are neither to be prevented from repairing them nor the sacredness of their covenants. No one of the nation (Muslims) is to disobey the covenant till the Last Day (end of the world)." Sources : http://www.ijtihad.org/Prophet%20Muh...%20Promise.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Achtiname_of_Muhammad... What Mr. Jinnah had Said on August 11, 1947 to the members of Pakistan Constituent Assembly. “You are free; you are free to go to your temples, you are free to go to your mosques or to any other place of worship in this State of Pakistan. You may belong to any religion or caste or creed - that has nothing to do with the business of the State." Who are we following and what have we become ??? |

This was really very sad incident like many others happening in our country and in the whole world. But as the followers of Islam we must be more careful than the followers of any other religion. Who knows that if he was there he will not be the part of any intolerance. Spare this event and look in our daily life, we are not ready to accept even small hindrances in our work, whether these hindrances are from nature or from people.
But here what we can do positive is to discuss what are the causes and how can we solve this issue. What I think is the role of education and the mosques is very important in this regards. There should be a separate subject of self improvement and while appointing teachers, either in Government or Private sector, the management must check the morality of teachers as they are going to be the role model of hundreds of students. Another difficult thing is to incorporate this tolerance in our religious institution. |

Another sad incident indeed. Such incidents are now common in Pakistan. Every other day the news channels are bombarded with the images of human misery in Pakistan. tolerance in our society is getting extinct and the forces of evil and brutality are getting stronger. Killing has become the trade of the day. As a society we need to be tolerant and we should respect the opposing thoughts and ideas. We take human lives on the name of Islam without realising that Islam itself calls the murder of a innocent human being as murder of whole humanity.
Its the duty of educated people to make tolerance a part of their personality and then spread the message of peace and tolerance in their society. The role of Ulema is also very important in this regard. They should also brain wash the extremists and try to neutralise their thoughts. Government should take strong measures against the culprits and a strong message should be given to the Non-state violent actors (NVAs). The politicians should stop the petty and heinous blame game and should try to cover the loopholes in the laws related to Blasphemy.
