Request to religious clerics. why?

world health organization requested the religious clerics to play their role after a brutal murder of a polio worker in Kpk.I know about the role of mosque and minmber in the Prophet's and orthodox period that covered all the fields of life being on the apex. But in the existing scenario this request arose a lot questions in my mind like

1.They (WHO) know about the failure of our law enforcement agencies?
or
2.The power of religious clerics?

3.Here is a downfall of morality?

4.Power theft has ravaged the economy and thieves do not know that even prayer and recitation of the Holy Quran is not accepted by using stolen power?

5.If they have really a power then why drinking, hypocracy and vulgarity is incresing day by day in our society?
6.Their Friday sermons are not effective or they are not raising the social issues?

7.They are unaware about their actual power and its use?
