Default Talk , Fight or a Middle way with TTP

Comment
The solution is not talks — at this stage — that won’t walk but to strengthen the state’s capacity against urban terrorism. Talks will come, as they always do. That is precisely the reason for use of force or the threat of its use: to force the enemy into talking. But the lesson remains unchanged. Talks must be conducted from a position of strength.

Finally, those expecting a neat solution must despair their belief. Irregular wars and the combination of external and internal threats do not vanish easily or quickly. They take years to gestate and many more years to put down. The choice, therefore, is not between fighting and talking as two mutually exclusive binaries. They are intertwined. But the timing must be right. And the fight itself needs to be understood correctly in all its dimensions — urban terrorism being the most important to deal at this point.

Agree with the comment above....

In fact we don't have much options left because nothing in this world can stop a suicide attack and TTP seems pretty self-sufficient in that. So things are reduced to negotiations only. But agree once again that when it comes to negotiations, we should not go there as losers or it ll be an open defeat of the state against anti- nuisance groups. Again it comes to the brains of our statesmen.

I wonder if religion has been used to drive them, can't we use the same for our own good? I mean infilteration of religeous teachers in those areas just a thought

Default Drone aftermath

Actually whenever TTP showed some willingness towards negotiations, America drops a drone on their ace players which always results in a temporary termination of their negotiation offers.

This time, Nawaz government showed its willingness to follow the peace-talk way. With anti-drone PTI government in KPK along with Molana Fazlur Rehamn and JI willing to play their role, the stage was all set for peace talks and all it took USA was to bomb Wali ur Rahman, who was said to be pro-negotiations too. Now the furious TTP has revoked any peace offer as such.

Lets hope for the best.

Oooo
TTP should use their minds that these drone attacks not only harming them but also matter of Pakistan sovereignty. They should understand cunning nature of USA and come forward for peace talk. I think such Drone attacks should speed up Negotiation process for peace. lets Hope for the best

Actually things are not as simple as they seem.

TTP doubts Pak government's intentions. They think we are pro-USA in our true nature and they have their reservations. Also killing of their ace members has caused panicky among them but they don't want to appear weak.

They give a damn to Pakistan's sovereignty but WHY they are being persistently on an anti-state agenda with inexhaustible resources is what I don't understand. They should have known by now how their acts are helping our enemies, who are coincidentally non-Muslims, and how their acts will never bear fruit in dictating Pak governments and still they live in such a state of self-induced war?

There must be something missing here.

talk with militants at this stage when wali Ur Rehaman (Commander of TTP) the most suitable person for peace negotiation were killed in recent attack of american drone which closed all the ways of negotiation. Not only that but our army Gen, Ashafaq Perverz kayani clearly stated in his speech on Maryther Day 2 May 2013 that this war is our country war and we ll fight till these groups lay down their weapons and admit the state and its constitution. now this is not possible that TTP admits democracy so easily. So the only solution is that incoming PM Nawaz Shrif bring all the concern institution on one platform and besides all things just make a strategy to save Pakistan and its innocent people.
