dialogue between Russia and Pakistan

The inaugural session of the Dialogue begins in Moscow today (Wednesday) with Pakistan at foreign secretary level.what kind of implications it have for Pakistan in present situation of border tension between India and Pakistan.As Russia have more strong ties with India.

I think We should rely on our-self instead of looking towards a western country to help us decrease the tension with India or to support us regarding this matter. We have to secure our borders by our own will power and it is going to be possible only when We work together. Secondly these dialogues have a certain word with economy, We should try to build our economy as much as We possibly can so in this regard, these dialogues are very important.

Pakistan desperately needs to come at good terms with Russia due to following:-
1) US withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2014.

Post withdrawal period is a concern for both nations. Russia and Pakistan cannot afford to have a hostile security situation in Afghanistan. Russia is desirous to keep the things OK and under control in Afghanistan. It knows that without help of Pakistan, they can not have a strong role in Afghanistan.

2) American Presence. Russia does not like American presence in the region. So it wants to get rid of NATO, ISAAF & US from Afghanistan peacefully before the region becomes polarized.

3) Trade - Gwadar Port
Russia is desirous for trade through Gwadar as it is the shortest and most economically feasible land route for trade.

4) Weapons
Russia wants to find another customer in the form of Pakistan for its weapons.

5) US-India Civil Nuclear deal
Russia is observing relations between Dehli and Washignton D.C in the current scenario especially tilt of Dehli to Washington with curious eyes. US-India Civil Nuclear Deal is a matter of concern for Russia too.

Pakistani Perspective:-

Pakistan wants Moscow to have a word with Delhi on recent border activism and other such anti-Pakistan activities via-a-vis fueling the separatist movements in Baluchistan, Sectarian Violence, Cross border activities in Pakistan - Afghanistan Border and Water hegemony of India.


Membership of SCO:-

Russia can play a vital role in making Pakistan a member of SCO which is the first and foremost hunger of Pakistan as it is facing all the diseases which SCO can eradicate. So Islamabad can fancy its chances from Moscow. Remember that SCO is often called Russian NATO (in west).


Afghanistan Situation:-

Pakistan wants to check Indian role in Afghanistan which is ambitious to convert Afghanistan into its Garrison after US withdrawal and that may be the worst situation for Pakistan. So Islamabad wants to encounter Delhi on Afghanistan through Moscow.

In return Russian wants to become Queen of Asia through Pakistan.

Moscow and Islamabad have to come closer now, both need each other.
