i heard that two spots were selected for the new capital after Karachi and these spots were Musakhel (Balochistan) and Islamabad. Musakkhel district share borders with Punjab and KPK. Apart from geographical position, climate factor was also considered. You may further google these facts. So Ziarat, as per my knowledge, was never considered for new capital.

Ziarat is a beautiful city of Pakistan but it cannot become the capital of Pakistan due to crises in the country.

Suppose we have nominated Ziarat to be Capital, then other Province will also ask for separate Capital like South Africa. However, in South Africa the case is little different due to there legislation and administrative bodies. Nevertheless, Punjab, Sindh and KPK will also ask for their own capital and in this way the situation will go bad to worst like fall of Dhaka. In the end, there would be disintegration. Hope it makes sense

By Chance I saw this post so I thought I must throw some light on it. Well! categorically, Ziarat can not be the option for the capital of Pakistan.Why???? My dear the only reason is its weather which varies from 20 degree Celsius to Minus 25 degree centigrade. The day to day activities stuck for the more than six months when winter starts there. Even the people of Quetta can not survive the winter of Ziarat.
