Myth of India as greate power

India needs to go a long way to become a power.
They have to first nip the crime against women and children, corruption and inequality in the distribution of resources from its bud. Then they have chances of getting into power.
World powers have first severely degraded the social evils, India must do that first.

Yes, May be next to China.
Henry Kessinger had predicted it 20 years before.
We can't deny the facts. Nationalism in India will drive her to this point. Modi have also entered the game to boost the economy. US India relations are getting much strong and even China sees India as his next rival in economic game. Due to it's large population, India is bringing reforms which are based on long sighted benefits.

But the residuary powers, no doubt will reside in Muslim states. So, while establishing your world order, you will have to consider these people as well, until or unless you wage another war against Iran, Syria and Pakistan and deprive them from their sovereignty anew.

Wars on Religion and Nationalism are over in the Post-Modern world.

Next wars in "Post American World" will be on "Identities".

The states who kept them aloof from these wars, will remain stable.
It's the time for Muslim states to reckon the fact before hand and should put air, that our survival do not depend on the survival of identities, but on survival of Economy, boundaries and sovereignty.
All our religious factions, who are trying to impose their set of identities should be quietened by going to any means, via war or strategy to keep away this proxy war, coming to us.

The very concept of "great powers" will disappear with time. First of all, the superpower era is at an end. America can no longer continue to yield the power it does now with the growth of China and the European Union. One reason for this is shifting of wealth and another is the inability of major powers to enforce their will by force. Books can be written about this, I'm just giving you a summary.

Second, as the world progresses and the lines between the developing and developed countries began to blur, the influence of powers such as China and America will decrease further.

So a hundred years later, India will just be another large country in the overall community of nations, not a "Power" in the present sense of the word.

Keeping in view your point of view, i would somehow disagree. The influence of China has just been augmented, it could not be decreased until some powerful economic country see eye to eye with her. US policies failed to render their shots of being a super power. India could never rise in the name of nationalism, Russia is already lingering behind sanctions, but her military power is intact. On the whole, China would triumph in 2015 as the sole super powers, not as capitalist, nor as rival, but a friendly super power country.

I'm of the view that the entire concept of a super power is slowly fading away. I'm talking about the next 100 years, not the next 10 or 20. By its very definition, a superpower should be able to exert influence over other, do you agree? Superpowers such as China and America are slowly losing this ability to exert influence. It is already almost impossible to exert inflection through military strength and will become more difficult in the future. Economically too, the influence of individual countries will decrease as 1) the economy becomes more globalized and 2) poor countries move out of the cycle of poverty. Remember that by 2050, many currently underdeveloped countries will have joined the list of developed, prosperous countries. Therefore, the ability of any one country, including China and America to exert influence over the rest of the world will diminish.

On a side note, the dominant culture of the future will still be Western. People can come up with all kinds of weird reasons for that but the BASIC, CORE reason is that it promotes gender equality. Muslim culture by comparison is centered around segregation of the sexes, something that is not acceptable to a majority of the population.

If you take a look at China, you will see this in action. Already the Chinese are becoming increasingly Westernized.

Indian democracy has lasted 60 years.its india's plus point.still it needs to address the rural poverty and corruption.india needs to increase its per capita income because still average Europeans and Americans are earning more than Indians.

power is moving back to the status of being multipolar. There would no longer be single super power as we see in unipolar order. Reason for this shift is increasing interdependency of numerous nations. In that scenario india would no doubt be a force to be reckoned with, owing to the large population contained in it. As for now, Modi is doing blunders in name of nationalism and india would have to suffer the consequences in coming future. As i always say, modi is proving to be india's ziaulhaq.

India can play a role in regional prosperity and thus become a strong influence only if it starts realizing its strengths and responsibilities in saarc. Poverty, corruption, women persecution, caste system(yes still its there), unemployment are some of the major problems of india which are still not done away with. Mending this all would take plenty of time, especially in the case when the will to do so is found wanting.
