An alternator has 8 poles, for one revolution the frequency would be in Hz:
10 4 8 16

The above question is wrong.
Previously, I thought NTS would have noticed this question but I called NTS just now, they said we have not received any complaint.

I request all members who think that this question is wrong, please email/call NTS and ask them to compensate for this. Please do fast as we have already running short of time.
The question is correct and has a simple logic which has already been shared.

Dear Nadeem,
I have watched the logic but couldn't understand that. One more thing is that me and my friends have repeatedly sent emails regarding test pattern and injustice done to power engineers, so how can they say that no one has contacted them about test? They are telling lie, they just want to hide their incompetency regarding test.
Thanks

Ok let me please. As we know that conductor passes through successive NS poles and produces 2 amplitudes of opposite polarity,So if there are 8 poles it means that 8 crust/troughs will be produced,as 1 crust+1 trough=1 wave so there will be 4 waves produced in 1 revolution which implies that the frequency will be 4Hz.
what is passing %age for both g.k & tech.........plz shre
40%/7 marks for G.K portion
50%/42 marks for Technical portion

O my God!
You are not getting my point.
The wrong thing in the question is the unit Hz, if we replace Hz with cycles then the question becomes correct.

Now I am sure you both will agree to my point.

I inquired about wrong question only and NTS representative told me about the same.
I did not inquire about paper pattern.
