Default guess regarding syllabus
20% will be professional i.e economics related, tax law related, general info of FBR duties, tax collection etc.. 20 % english vocabulary/grammar, 20 % basic arithmetic, 20% islamiat, 20% current affairs/ everyday science.

Does any one know when does FPSC post the syllabus of test, usually? And when shall they post Inspector IRS' test syllabus???

wait for confirm syllabus of FPSC,
it will come in couple of weeks.. ........for general MCQs related to General knowledge Islamiat, Basic arithmetic i would suggest Jahangir's' general aptitude test it covers almost MCQs.

I think it would be related to fbr rules...sales tax...excise tax and custom as if v go through the anti norcotics test of same post their is no general knowledge type questions rather related to norcotics...rest is depend on fpsc lets wait for the syllabus..I have start my preparation from cited topics rest will do aftr getting syllabus.

Income tax ordinance 2001 is very lengthy book and rest are tome too. Don't know what chapters are more important. FPSC should announce the paper distribution as soon as possible as candidates could have longer time to understand and grasp the laws.

Can you please share the topics which you are preparing...i have no idea what to prepare ....
