Does this mean that a candidate not enrolled at one of the Asian partner universities shall not be eligible the target 1 or the scholarship. Kindly clarify. Thanks

Number of scholarships

The scholarships are divided in Target groups, Mobility groups and country of origin (Budget group) according to the table in the table below. Note that it is your nationality (Passport/ID) that determines which budget group you belong to, not the country where you are residing.

Last year there were 2700 applications submitted and 110 scholarships were available.These are for every subject.The following criteria is observed for selection.
1. Validation by home university: Applicants who belong to one of the partner universities (target group 1 applicants), are validated by the home university to check the current registration or affiliation.

2. Assessment by host university: The host universities assess the applications according to the pre-defined criteria based on academic relevance/eligibility, academic quality/grades, relevant language proficiency, matching to appropriate research groups and/or already established cooperation or intention to do so (when applicable)

3. Criteria used for nomination: Based on these assessments in combination with the number of scholarships available for each mobility group, the EMEA steering committee decides which candidates shall be nominated for a scholarship. In addition to the restricted budget, the EMEA steering committee must take into account the higher objective of the project, which is the cooperation between the institutions within the partnership, including a balance among sending universities in each country and receiving universities in the hosting countries, as well as a balance between fields of study and gender.

4. The host university’s local rules are applied for admission and exam procedures. If the applicant is not eligible for a certain course or program, he/she will not be selected for scholarship.

What does mean by TG1? and above it is written that Target group 1
Nationals of Bangladesh, China, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan or Thailand, registered at one of the Asian partner universities at the time of application. does it mean, a person who is not enrolled in any Asian University is not elligible for the Erasmus Mundus scholarship? and what does mean by these numbers

Those number shows the number of scholarship available for the respective target group.

do we have to separately apply at univ s listed ? or just fr cholarship and they will carry on app process for us ?

Just apply for scholarship, they will further process our applications to concerned universities. no need to apply directly for admission in listed universities.
