Not quite.:) As far as I know admissions for MS are now closed in NUST and PIEAS. What are my other options? And is it a full sponsorship with stipend (if yes, how much) and can we seek admission in universities abroad? Thanks for your time bro.
I've got 76 in GAT on jan 2013. BS Chem engr. What are my chances of securing this scholarship and I know nothing about these, like stipend duration and any bond etc. Jahanzeb could you spare a few minutes and guide me please? And is it necessary to get enrolled in any MS program to avail this scholarship?
You score is good. Your selection depend on this year's merit. It is not compulsory to have admission as it is not mentioned in the advertisement. HEC will give you time to get enrolled.
For MS leading to PhD your stipend duration will be 5 years and during MS you will get 10,000/month while during PhD you will get 13,000/month.

faculty development for UEST which is actually for engineers was announced in April 2013 and many people having score 65+ got final selection for Korea and Turkey.

Merit will be determined only on the basis of GAT.
pervious year's merit list is available on HEC's website indigenous scholarship section.

HEC has told about the universities in its add
You have to get admission in those universities which meet the Quality criteria of HEC.
Previous year merit list is available on this link for different field and province merit is different.

Yes you are rite admissions are closed in nust and pieas.and now you have options of uet lahore, uet taxila, muet, neduet and comsats.
it is a full scholarship with stipend of 12k during MS for 2 years and 18k in phd for 3 years with an annual increase of 1500 in phd.in addition to this hec will give you 100k for support to uni fee per annum during MS and 175k support for uni fee during PHD,60k for laptop fund once,5k for book book allowance every year. HEC will also pay honorarium to your supervisor on your behalf and you will also get funds for your MS and PHD thesis work.
No you can not seek admission abroad you have to do PHD from pakistan but after completing 18 credit hours of PHD you can go abroad for 6 months research work on hec IRSIP program.
Have you applied in Nust???

From where can I obtain the list of engineering universities this program covers?

umarkhalid Tuesday, July 23, 2013 06:12 PM

I have scored 70 in GAT general but my cgpa was 2.2 in my engineering education. I want to know about my chances in getting admission in business education.
Secondly, can anybody confirm/re-confirm that merit is based solely on GAT score?
Also, can anybody provide the link to the list of eligible universities covered by this scholarship?

Yes I've applied in NUST and also PIEAS. While I have some hopes from NUST I have little from PIEAS as the test went poor. Anyway I'm only interested in these two universities but the stipend is not attractive. Even if selected its five long years in poor pay and then again I'll be a fresh PhD overage to apply for any trainee programs. Working in academia for the rest of my life doesn't attract me very much although I'm aware that competition is getting tougher. You have any ideas where fresh PhDs can be inducted in any industry?
