Hey Everyone ...

I need some clarification and I hope you will be able to clear up some of my confusions ...

When one applies for MS some universities ask for a "personal Statement" or "Letter of Motivation" while others ask for "Research Plan". What is the difference between the two?

Also what is mean't by "have you contacted a professor in university?" or "Ask a professor to accept you in his/her lab?"

I know these questions may sound immature but for a first timer a little bit of clarification can help alot.
